Earth sign Virgo gets a chance at the Sun on Thursday, August 22, 2013. Whether it is your birth sign or not, we will feel the effects of this practical, hardworking, Mercury ruled 6^th sign of the Zodiac until 9/22/13. We will all be a little more grounded and efficient.

Virgo, sign of health, hard work and service also lets us know that it really is all about the details, details, details. If you want to work better/ want better work, put together the little building blocks needed to create something substantial, step by step. We all deserve achievement so why not go after it now (whatever “it” is). Also, implement a good health/exercise regimen. Feeling better helps you work better.

However, being wrapped up in details, or what some may call the “sweating the small stuff”, can also lead to being over critical and picky, not “seeing the forest for the trees” and/or that saying about “paralysis analysis”, etc. Friends,  family and co workers  eventually resent correction, the pointing out of faults, no matter how “helpful”, how good the intention.  Since planet ruler Mercury, the communication maven, transits Virgo, 8/22/13 – 9/9/13, we may talk more, snap more, be “clever”. Giving assistance doesn’t have to mean getting on everyone’s nerves. ,

While being grounded, efficient and responsible, you can make it fun and still get results. If you want to work better and/or want better work, this is an excellent time to put together the building blocks needed to create something substantial.

Beware of over analyzing, getting wrapped up in too many details (traits ascribed to the typical Virgoan). Being over critical and picky, not “seeing the forest for the trees”, suffering bouts of  “paralysis analysis” will just get in the way and slow you down from making improvements, organizing messes (large and small), and just experiencing a general solidness with both feet on the ground. The Virgo Sun spreads its influence on Tuesday 8/23 regardless of whether it’s your Astrological sign or not. We will all be a little more grounded, practical, efficient and responsible. This Mercury ruled Earth sign (of health, hard work and service) also lets us know that it really is all about the details, details, details.  Make plans and aim for better diet and fitness. If you want to work better or want better work, put together the little building blocks needed to create something substantial. We all deserve that and while the Sun heats up this 6^th sign of the Zodiac, now is the perfect time to get it done (whatever “it” is).

BTW:  Sun moves into Virgo on Tuesday at 7:21 AM Eastern / 4:21 AM Pacific. (The Sun remains in Virgo until 9/23/11.)

FYI: Virgo’s planet ruler Mercury went Retrograde on 8/2/11, moving backward into Leo on 8/8.  It continues the reversal until movement finally stops on 8/26 (still in Fire sign Leo). Mercury then goes Direct, forward, but it will not reach Virgo again until 9/9. When the communication planet is in one of the signs it rules, Gemini is the other, their traits are pronounced.

But, (there is always one of those) remember that Mercury, planet of communication – speaking/writing, etc – will be retrograde in Virgo from 8/20 to 9/12 and some of those natural Virgo traits like, attention to detail, glorification of service, may be blunted. Don’t get frustrated and grab on to the other traits of this sign – super critical, worrying for the sake of… If you can stay away from the classic “analyze/paralyze” thing, you can make strides in organization, focusing on job advances (if that’s what you want), financial plans, etc.

Smile, it will be okay. Just do what Virgos are always good at regardless – lending aid and assistance. Making schedules, making plans, improving things, finding a good health/exercise regimen. Contribute!
