The Sun moving into Capricorn, the 10^th sign of the Zodiac, also means the start of the Winter Solstice, the official beginning of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere on December 21, 2013. Capricorn, an Earth sign ruled by the planet Saturn, is serious, efficient, grounded, practical and ambitious. Yes, very different from all the upbeat holiday revelry, however, there’s no need to have a letdown. Capricorn can keep us busy, accomplished and sensible. Re-goal yourself (I made this word up), tune up career moves, network in house, organize whatever needs to be shaped up. Make something happen. Just don’t get so bogged down in responsibilities that you become rigid and cautious.

Potent, powerful, persistent, passionate OR, stubborn, secretive, sensitive, sensual. (I sort of exhausted all my S’s and P’s) I couldn’t decide on which group of adjectives to use for the mysterious 8^th sign if the Zodiac. I’ve decided that it isn’t an either / or, the depth and strength of this Water sign can handle all descriptions. The Sun will heat and be heated by its Scorpio transit beginning on Monday October 22, 2012.

Where does Scorpio, ruled by power and transformation planet Pluto, appear in your chart”, Sun sign, Ascendant, Moon? Regardless of the House placement, a Scorpio Sun brings intensity and deep feeling to us all. Many times when confronted with an issue, there will only be an either yes or no response – no compromise. “Maybe” will not be acceptable. It is black or white with no shades of grey. Especially now with Saturn, planet of discipline, perseverance, and boundaries, visiting until December 2014, the demand for real life, well defined positions, along with some hard edged decisions will be amped. Superficial skimming the surface, in conversation or action, just won’t do.

Fall is officially here and along with the Autumn Equinox, in the Northern Hemisphere, the Sun waltzed into Libra on Saturday September 22, 2012. Even if it isn’t your Sun or Rising sign, the 7^th sign of the Zodiac will still cast a glow. It’s all about socializing, networking, getting along. There will be cooperation, genial negotiations and the urge to seek balance in both business and personal relationships. Good things in life are highlighted due to the influences of lovely planet ruler Venus – romance, music, delicious food, beauty, graciousness and hospitality. This can be a fun time.

Communication planet Mercury will be visiting Libra until October 5, 2012, it should make for clever, interesting dinner conversation. Saturn, planet of restrictions and just general “grownup-ness” has been transiting Libra for about 2 years. It leaves the Air sign on October 6, 2012. Any feelings of limitations due to the task master’s presence should dissipate. The plus side is you’ll be left with any results that focused, hardworking Saturn has left you. (Was decision making faster than usual?)

Seeking harmony, the Libra way is to see both sides of an issue before making up your mind. However, using the Pros/Cons list method can just string the selection process out. From Saturday afternoon until Monday, we will be in the serious embrace of a Capricorn Moon. Ruled by the planet Saturn, the duty bound, authoritarian energy of the Earthy 10^th sign of the Zodiac can really get us to step up to the front, assign tasks, give directions – be the BOSS!

Good time to strategize for any type of business activity. But, don’t go overboard, be nice to your employees (or any friends and family members that you’ve roped into assisting with chores). No need to go into “Myth of Sisyphus” mode – loosen up, stop grinding your teeth, delegate whenever possible and smile.

By Monday evening the Moon will be in fun, innovative, unpredictable Aquarius. Unplanned events are favored.

Moon in Capricorn on Friday, March 16, 2012 – Moon in Aquarius on Saturday and Sunday. The Moon visits the ambitious, status concerned Earth sign of Capricorn on Friday February 17, 2012.  Ruled by Saturn, a Capricorn Moon can be a time of business focused, deliberate movement. It brings out the “administrator” in us – a perfect time to organize, assign tasks, give directions, take charge, move with purpose.

Early Sunday we go from duty bound stoic to friendly rebel – the unpredictable, freedom loving Air sign Aquarius. While under this Uranus ruled sign’s influence, we are in the mood to do something inventive and spontaneous usually with a group. Rally the troops for a favorite cause – they will bow to your command -maybe not quite, but they should be more agreeable than usual. Sort of like those fish (pike?) that don’t wait to be caught, they just jump into your boat. I personally feel that people want to be useful, to make a difference.
