Gemini Season 5/20/22 !

On Friday, May 20, 2022, the Sun bounces into flexible, variety loving Gemini. Welcome to “Twins Land” – the 3rd sign of the Zodiac represents duality (think Castor and Pollux).  This Air sign is all about versatility, multi-tasking, being busy, needing change. A curiosity for new places and things, the enjoyment of doing several things at once and the willingness to adapt that keeps the wrinkles, mental and physical, at bay. They almost always look younger than their age. The characteristic youthfulness of Gemini has nothing to do with immaturity. Regardless of your birth sign, everyone should benefit from a boost of Gemini energy. I have a Gemini Sun, so I’m really having fun w/this 🙂

Ruled by the Communication planet Mercury, we will all feel some of this sign’s influences, regardless of our Zodiac sign. There may be sudden urges to learn something new, meet and greet, read and write, chat too much/gossip too much, wishes to be in two places at once (that “twin” thing). And don’t forget travel, whether it be real or arm chair, the search for greener grass will be enticing.

~ Clever, quick, information maven Mercury transits Gemini from 4/30 – 5/24/22. The planet will be Retrograde (it appears to move backwards in the sky) from 5/10 until 6/2/22 which may cause confusion & some snafus. Check the details. Collect your thoughts. Watch what you say or write. Don’t be careless or sloppy while interacting with others.

Sun To Tasteful, Tenacious Taurus – 4/19/16

astrology_chartwheel 2On Tuesday April 19, 2016, the Sun moves into stubborn and determined Taurus. It has the Bull as its Astrology symbol, however, since it is ruled by the lovely, romantic planet Venus, this sign has several other dimensions. It can be stuck and resistant to change, but also, a sensual lover of beauty, good food and luxury. While appreciating all the comforts, the second sign of the Zodiac also wants us to be financially secure at all times.

For the next few weeks, regardless of Sun sign, we can all tap into those Taurean traits of strength and endurance so that we solidify and complete the projects started during the high energy of the Aries Sun. Watch out for a tendency to be overcautious – don’t miss an opportunity out of fear. Security is attractive, especially in this financial climate, but, sometimes we have to take a second look to see the advantage.

Taurus luxe will be sweetened by visiting Venus , 4/30 – 5/24 and financial situations can be muddled by a Mercury transit, which began on 4/6, going Retrograde, 4/28 – 5/23 (clever, Mercury remains in Taurus until 6/23/16). If you must negotiate and sign contracts, read everything twice. Don’t rush.

With a Taurus Sun, loved ones are treated to poetry, music and gourmet meals, while getting a lecture on the advantages of saving money – nice mix.

Taurus:  *Gemstone: Rose Quartz * Power color: Soft rose-pink* Body Part: Neck

* Sun into Taurus, Tuesday 4/19/16 – 11:30 AM Eastern / 8:30 AM Pacific

**As always, those most affected have the Sun and/or Rising sign in Taurus, but the rest of us will still feel the stable influences somewhere in our lives depending upon where the Earth sign appears in the birth chart.

2016 * Another New Year, Another New Mercury Retrograde

What a way to start the year! The first Mercury Retrograde of 2016 begins on Tuesday, January 5. Are ya ready for this?

Astro Planet Glyphs 2Mercury is concerned with all forms of information, travel, education, tech stuff and small appliances. Labeled, “the Communication planet”, it’s often confusion generating backward sky motion begins in humanitarian, revolutionary, group oriented Air sign Aquarius, reverses back to ambitious, responsible Earthy Capricorn on 1/9/16 and stops there on 1/25/16. It’s Direct motion towards Aquarius will begin again shortly thereafter.

With Aquarius in the mix, ruled by eccentric, revolutionary Uranus, transportation, team plans and technical mix ups can occur. As always, back up, double check, confirm. Make sure everyone is on the same page and shows up for the rally at the right place. (Difference between Paris, TX and Paris, France – that sort of thing. Seems silly, but it happens)

On 1/9, when the planet backs into 10th sign of the Zodiac Capricorn, the possibilities of disturbances still apply but with more focus on career, status, security, finances, etc. Go over business details, written communications, personal and business budget plans that may need tweaking. Catch an error and “save face”, save money.

As always, my urging is to “pawz and refwesh”, as Elmer Fudd would say:

rethink, reassess, revisit, review, rewrite

Things will gradually become clearer as Mercury picks up speed. You’ll be able to go forward with anything you may have discovered during the pause and refresh time out. If you can, wait a few days after Mercury’s forward motion before firming up new partnerships and signing contracts or agreements.

Of course, life goes on, there are chores and plans that must be handled regardless of what Mercury is doing. Retrograde chaos is not inevitable. We can mitigate potential misunderstandings by paying attention to the details.

BTW: Mercury just “appears” to go backwards. Planets only move forward, however, due to the earth’s changing speed as it orbits around the Sun, the positions are such that it looks like a reverse motion from earth.

*Mercury Retrograde: 1/5/16 * 8:06AM EST / 5:06AM PST

Astrology: Saturn Retrograde in Social Libra January 2011

The planets continue to move! On January 25/26, 2011, Saturn, which has been in the Air sign Libra off and on since January 2010, will stop and appear to go  backwards in the sky until June 12, 2011. Retrograde periods, regardless of the planet, invites “re” activities – re consideration, re evaluation, etc. With Saturn, it is all about boundaries, “life lessons”, discipline, and responsibility. You can use the time to review the usual Libra themes, partnerships, relationships, social networks – are they strong, are they real? Does anything need extra work or just a little tweaking? There may be tension as you now take the time to notice what works/what doesn’t.

Those born with their Sun or Rising signs in Libra or have experienced a recent 30/60 year Saturn Return in this sign(the planet returns to the same place in your chart as at the time of birth every 30 years) may notice the effects. (For others, it will depend upon where the planet appears in your chart.)

The planet will stop again on June 12, 2011, reverse to Direct and remain in this Venus ruled sign until early 2012. Discovered in 1610 by Galileo, as I’ve written before, I think of Saturn sometimes as the Castor Oil of the planet world.  Ancient Astrologers considered it a malefic, but recently, a more  positive spin, such as a bringer of reality bites, etc. , has been attributed to it–like medicine that tastes awful, but does you good, eventually. (Ugh)

Librans will still do the charming, social thing, but perhaps will cut out ways of being, or people, that no longer contribute to their well being. (Is that cutting the wheat from the chaff or something?)

Astrology: Moving Planets – Lots of Activity in Taurus!

The sign of Taurus will be hosting 2 high powered planets- Venus and Mercury- for several weeks at the end of March/beginning of April, 2010. Planet transits vary in length adding energy to a sign and can impact the individual wherever it falls in their chart. Taurus is a very dependable, practical sign that respects money, hates debt, loves beauty and comfort.  To paraphrase a line from my favorite musical “Westside Story” – “Who knows…Somethin’s coming and it’s gonna be great”.

Venus rules the sign of Taurus and glides in on Wednesday March 31 until April 25, 2010.  Often referred to as the planet of love, Venus is all about relationships and is very comfortable in this sign. Think peace, love, good food and budget talks with a significant other?  (Or, a close family member.)

Mercury, the usually speedy communications planet, moves into Taurus on April 2 until June 10, 2010. During this time frame, the planet will slow its pace and go retrograde on 4/18 – it will stop going backward and go direct again on 5/11/10.  Earthy, grounded Taurus will bring weight to the quick, “chatty Kathy” Mercury. Use this time to think things through – to change your mind if need be.

BTW:  Taurus rules the 2nd House in the Astrology chart – It is the House of possessions, money (what we do with it/how we feel about it), what we think is “valuable”.

Astrology: Moving Planets

Wednesday March 10th is a busy day –”planetarily” speaking.

The Moon is currently in the ambitious, business focused Earth sign of Capricorn until 1:59 pm PST Wednesday.  Ruled by Saturn, a Capricorn Moon can be a time of very deliberate movement.  That sluggishness, coupled with the Retrograde Mars, might give a feeling of walking in molasses when it comes to any career plans.  However, the Moon only stays in a sign for 2 to 2 ½ days. It will move into the innovative, unrestrained Air sign of Aquarius by the evening of the 3/10.

As mentioned a few weeks ago, the volatile planet Mars (in the Fire sign of Leo), retrograde since December, will reverse and go forward on the same day.  But, before a planet can reverse, it must slow down to a standstill.  As it does that, the planet’s themes/characteristics are enhanced.  Look out for hot tempered issues, rash judgments, impatience as it starts its direct motion. Things will really speed up as we get to the weekend and the New Moon. Get something started!

Astrology: Moving Planets – Mars Direct

Mars springs forward again on 3/10/10.  The fiery planet went retrograde in December 2009 and you may have noticed that plans/projects either slowed down or just never got off the ground.  Well, the kid is back – almost. Still in the Fire sign of Leo, Mars goes direct on the 10th but won’t really hit full stride for a few days. Patience.

With Mars on all cylinders,  this is a great time to start something . (Especially, after the New Moon phase begins on 3/15!)  Certain aspects of life and personality will be energized – passion, determination, ambition, creativity, expansiveness – big confidence/big plans. Depending upon where Mars appears in your chart, all this can lead to not only exciting, fun times, but, also volatility, temperament.  Before you put on the “you wanna piece of me” face and go into a combat stance, ask yourself if the situation really warrants an over the top response.

Enjoy, make things happen – just remember that moderation is not a bad thing.
