New Moon in Capricorn, Weekend in Aquarius

Astro New Moon CrescentThe first New Moon of 2013 happens on Friday January 11h. The Lunar Orb is in ambitious, career minded Earth Sign Capricorn – a great way to start the year when you want to devise goals and plans for a status upgrade – strategize! Like all New Moons, it always occurs in the same sign as the current Sun placement intensifying and powering its Astrology traits, characteristics. As I’ve said before, New Moons are always full of “beginning” possibilities, this 10th sign of the Zodiac can supply the pragmatism and discipline to go forward and pursue a path to success.

Even though the Moon will change signs, the “New” energy lasts for about 10 days. From duty bound convention to irreverent rebel, Saturday and Sunday will be under the vibe of the friendly, unpredictable, independent Aquarius Moon. We may be more inclined to do something original, to be spontaneous, to be ready to join the revolution. (Find that old Che T-Shirt 😎 ) Organize a community or group to do some good.

The Moon is ”New” in Sensual Scorpio, 11/13/12

Always good advice to “hold on” when the luminary is in emotional, sensitive, Water sign Scorpio. Especially when a “New” Moon phase and a Solar Eclipse occur in the same sign – power and passion can go off the charts.

Tuesday will be great for beginnings, initiating plans. The 8th sign of the Zodiac gives us the fire power to be focused, persistent and determined. This can be deep, this can be serious. Seize the opportunity and go after what you want.

New Moon in Lovely Libra – Start it Up!

Another New Moon phase happens early on Monday October 15, 2012. This month, the Lunar orb is “New” in Air sign Libra. When the Sun and the Moon are in the same sign, there is support for innovation, fresh starts, a great time for beginnings.

Libra’s social traits are intensified and “New” can mean new friends, relationships, partners, contracts, ideas.Find a new BFF, risk a blind date, speed network during a business card exchange party? Pick one. Regardless of what you choose, there will be interaction – it’s up to you just how much charm and cooperation will be spread around This dynamic energy lasts about 10 days and as the Moon transits the other signs, different areas of life will be primed for a “start-up”. Go for it!

FYI – Sun has been in Libra, 7th sign of the Zodiac, since 9/22/12.

Love, Luxe, Laughter – Leo New Moon

“New” Moon in Leo on Friday – both the Sun and the Moon are in the generous, colorful sign of Leo. With the Sun as ruler, this Fire sign is all about joyous confidence. New Moons are best for creativity and beginnings.

Use the flirty, creative vibrations natural to Leo and start a project, enroll a special someone in your life, do an awesome presentation – charm and fortune are in abundance. Depending on where Leo falls in your chart,  it may take some effort, but the “possibilities are endless” as they say. Prepare, plot, plan – go for it.

FYI: New Moon 11:54AM Eastern/ 8:54AM Pacific Friday August 17, 2012…then Virgo Moon in the evening, spotlight on health and work.

This initiating energy lasts for approx 10 days, even as the Lunar orb changes Zodiac signs. The Moon sign can just highlight what part of your life may be most in focus.

Time for the Youthful, Versatile Gemini Sun 5/20/12!

Welcome to “twins” Land.  Gemini is the 3rd sign of the Zodiac, representing duality (think Castor and Pollux).  This Air sign is all about flexibility, multi-tasking, being busy, needing change. Regardless of your birth sign, everyone should benefit from a boost of Gemini energy. Communication is key – chatting, tweeting, talking, writing. The social butterfly routine can be done with a good time being had by all.

Yes, the Sun will be in Gemini until June 20, but, there’s more! Lots of planet activity during this same time period intensifies Gemini traits and influences are powered up several notches:

*New Moon and Solar Eclipse Sunday afternoon May 20 – “New” always great for beginnings. The Eclipse can encourage us to take chances, risk.

*Venus, planet of beauty and romance, in Gemini since April 4, has softened language, encouraged creativity. Its Retrograde from May 16 to June 28 when it goes direct and then forward again to reach Cancer on August 8. That book you’re writing may slow down, but use downtime for research, rewrites, rethinking whether or not it really is a good idea to include details about that weird love affair from 10 years ago.

*Mercury, planet of Communication, rules Gemini and is therefore very comfortable there. The transit lasts from May 24 thru June 7 and during this time the cleverness and adaptability of Gemini, along with its critical and sarcastic talents rise to the surface. Everyone knows that Gemini is smart and sharp, no need for unprovoked take downs with verbal sparring or careless gossip.

*Jupiter, planet of opportunity, luck, excess, will sit in Gemini from June 12, 2012 until June 29, 2013. This planet can lift spirits, add to the joy of life and also make us reckless, taking multi-tasking to new levels. Gemini’s communication talents can be stretched to outrageous, bigger is better proportions. This can be very entertaining, but ground yourself, contain the scatter and nervous energy.

While the Sun is in Gemini, its writing, reading, conversation, quick weekend getaways, a “I’m bored  – let’s do something/learn something new and different,” energy abounds. Enjoy!

*Gemstone – Pearl or Agate * Color – Yellow * Body part – arms, hands

FYI = Sun into Gemini – 5/20/12   8:16am Pacific /11:16am Eastern

Solar Eclipse. New Moon- 5/20/12   4:47pm Pacific / 7:47pm Eastern

Weekend Moon: Friday Taurus, Sunday Gemini “New”!

May 18, 2012 could be a loving, luxurious Friday or a stubborn, determined one. When the Moon is in the Venus ruled, Fixed, Earth sign of Taurus, it’s all about sensuality, life’s beauty and pleasures, but it also brings forth the obstinate bull in us. Is there such a thing as inflexible love? Nobody wants to lose, give up/ give in, change direction. “Stickin-to-your-guns” works, until it doesn’t. Pay attention and accept when it stops. Regardless, surround yourself with good food, good people and good times.

On Sunday afternoon, May 20, the mood changes along with arrival of a Gemini New Moon. An initiative focused New Moon pushes us to “start” something. Since it’s in the 3rd sign of the Zodiac, ruled by Communication planet Mercury, whatever we start will probably be in some form of personal interaction – speaking, writing, etc. Launch an idea, a pitch, a book, an inquiry…

BTW:  A Moon is “New” when it’s in the same sign as the Sun. The Sun moves into Airy Gemini on the same day, May 20, 2012 – 8:20AM Pacific/ 11:19 am Eastern.

(A post celebrating the Gemini Sun will be up on Sunday)

Work or Revolt? Weekend Moon in Capricorn, then Aquarius

Most of the weekend belongs to an ambitious, focused Capricorn Moon. Ruled by Saturn, the planet of boundaries and life lessons (not always fun, but can be maturing) use this sign’s serious, organized and authoritarian energy to  accomplish, complete and be in charge. On Sunday night, January 22, 2012,there will be change when the Moon moves into the next sign, friendly, unpredictable Aquarius.

The Sun is already in the 11th sign of the Zodiac and when the Moon is visiting too, the Moon is called “New”. The 10 or so days following a New Moon is a great time to start a project, begin a class, create a masterpiece, etc. Power and possibilities for this Uranus ruled Air sign usually involves something to do with groups, or, something revolutionary- quite often both at the same time. Regardless, it will speak to Aquarian independence and love of the different.

Have a terrific weekend!

FYI: New Moon in Aquarius arrives on Sunday, 11:39PM January 22, 2012 (PAC) / 2:39AM January 23, 2012 (EST).

Sagittarius – Sun, New Moon, Eclipse, Venus, Mercury: Wow Weekend!

Friday November 25, 2011, with both a New Moon and a Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, should be a fun day for a retail extravaganza. Not that you should have one, just that the spirit and energy will be there to support you. Actually, a “New Moon”–is a great time to launch, create, kick-off, start something. Power is amped up with Mercury, communication planet, Venus, the planet of love / beauty, and both luminaries all in perky Sag, can lead to lucky, optimistic times – find the greatest bargain, the perfect gift, the bestest tree, manifest a dream. Or, you can hang out with family and friends – socializing works.

From Saturday afternoon thru Monday, the mood changes as the Moon shifts to serious Earth sign Capricorn. Did you go overboard? Eat too much, spend too much?  Spoke too many “truths” at the dinner table? Don’t waste too much time on regrets. Since this Saturn ruled 10th sign of the Zodiac needs to be businesslike and productive, focus and decide on what needs to be done – returns? apologies? You can handle it.

But, regardless of whatever out of body behavior may have been exhibited the past few days, don’t mope. Loosen up, stop grinding your teeth, the world is not ending (at least not today).

Have a super weekend!

FYI: New Moon and Solar Eclipse on 11/24, Thursday 10:10PM Eastern –  11/25 Friday 1:10AM Pacific

The Moon is “New” when it’s in the same sign as the Sun (Sun entered Sagittarius on 11/22/11).  Even though the Moon will go on to another sign (Capricorn on Saturday), the supportive “New” energy lasts for approximately 10 days.

Astrology: New Moon Weekend in Leo – This Could Be Exciting!

Both luminaries in the same sign means = “New Moon”. The Sun moved into ambitious, generous, enthusiastic Leo on July 22, 2011 and on Saturday July 30th, the Moon will also be in the same regal Fire sign. This is the 2nd “New” for this month – a rare occurrence. Since this particular Moon phase is always great for beginnings, take it as a sign of encouragement to initiate something in the next few days. If you have a project to get off the ground, someone that you need to enroll in your life, a presentation to make – charm and fortune are amped up. The Sun is powerful. Give yourself permission to shine.

The Moon remains in Sun ruled Leo until Sunday evening and it bodes well for an active, energetic, creative time. Put all that Solar driven joy and confidence all over people, give a performance, have fun with any melodrama that might ensue.  (Drama doesn’t always have to be a hissy fit.)

Possibilities for a fabulous weekend are endless. Let the good times…

FYI- The New Moon was in Cancer on July 1st, while the Sun was in the same sign.

Astrology: Moon Shenanigans For This Weekend 4/1/11

My usual routine on Thursdays is to give my opinion about the possible energy created around us based solely upon the weekend Moon’s Zodiac sign placements. I enjoy doing it and it’s a way to prepare to take advantage of any atmospheric vibes that are out there.  However, due to a rare 2 day“ Void of Course”  Moon,  which starts on Thursday March 31, I have no opinion to give for Friday – April Fool’s Day (Hmmmm).

The Moon, in the final degrees of Water sign Pisces, is Void of Course – meaning that it creates no aspects (relationships/connections) to the Sun or planets while on its way into the next sign.  This usually lasts from a few minutes to a few hours and needless to say, a 48 hour VC is rare. It lasts from 9:43AM Eastern / 6:43AM Pacific Thursday until Saturday morning April 2 at 7:16AM Eastern / 4:16AM Pacific when the Lunar orb finally settles into Aries.

A Moon without “aspects”, can be a time of vagueness and doubt.  The consensus among Astrologers is to “not start anything”.  Finishing projects that began before the “VC” can be handled and completed, but avoid initiating during this uncertain time.

Vibrations change on Saturday morning when things start to perk with the  potent early morning moves of both the Moon and Mars into Aries. In addition, Sunday April 3rd gives us a “New Moon” phase in this same aggressive Fire sign. Use its Martian energy to jump start projects, new beginnings, new ideas – implement, implement, implement!

Short version of the above: Finish up old stuff on Thursday/Friday and start new stuff from Sunday’s New Moon until the Moon’s First Quarter phase April 11.

And, not to pile it on, remember that Mercury is Retrograde in Aries until April 23. If you must sign or commit – review and verify forms of communication, techie stuff, etc.  (It never stops, life is just so full!)

Keep breathing. Enjoy your weekend!
