The Autumn Equinox arrives the same day as the Sun glides into Libra on Monday September 22, 2014. Relationships of all types are now in the forefront for the next few weeks – family, friends, marriages, business partners. It’s fun to be with people, to chat, flirt, cajole. The 7^th sign of the Zodiac, ruled by Venus, seeks cooperation, genial negotiations in both business and personal relationships.

Mercury, Communication planet ruler of chatty Gemini and analytical Virgo in Air sign Libra since 9/2/14, will remain until 9/28/14. It will return again on 10/11/14, until 10/25/14, while Mercury goes into its Retrograde period. (The backward motion will actually begin on 10/5/14 in Scorpio.) It should make for some clever, smart dinner conversation.

The Libra way is to see both sides of an issue before making decisions. However, seeking harmony by trying to be “fair” can sometimes lead to appearing indecisive. Or, using the “Pros/Cons” list method for making decisions can just strings the selection process out. Be aware that important action can be stalled by over think. Paying attention to instinct and being honest will give a more direct line to a choice. Don’t hesitate to show your spine when needed (some may be surprised when the Libra inner tensile strength is revealed), you’ll still be loved!

As always, your experience of the Sun in a particular sign depends most upon where it appears in your chart, but a Libra Sun does set a mood to benefit us all. On Friday August 15, 2014, we are treated to a sensuous yet security concerned Taurus Moon. This fixed Earth sign may have us trying to make choices – either tackling that bank statement or indulging, with your partner, in delicious, chocolate dipped strawberries. Remember, not all things are either/or. “AND” can often work very well too 🙂

Sunday afternoon, the Moon enters Gemini and remains until Tuesday evening. The chatty, quicksilver, variety loving traits of this Mercury ruled Air sign is great for scrabble, catching up on current events (gossiping?), traveling, communication of all kinds. Gemini’s duality (the Twins) can make us clever and versatile and also a little flighty and distracted. Go and chat someone up, but, think before you speak (or push “send” on that email or text).

Taurus and Gemini Moons can mean a very social weekend: delicious food, entertaining conversation, high or low brow literary pursuits, etc. Whichever way you lean, have a great time!

Finally, finally, Mercury stops its Retrograde motion as of July 1, 2014 and goes Direct. Don’t get sloppy now and forget to check the details, back up electronic gadgets or assume you know “the way to San Jose” without a map. It will take a few days for Mercury’s winged feet to get up to forward speed and dispel any murkiness we’ve had to deal with for the last 3 weeks. So, continue vigilance and watch out for any snafus. However, by the weekend, things are clearer and the pace quickens. There is great potential for any social occasion that might pop up – the Moon moves into Venus ruled, charming, flirtatious Libra early Friday morning July 4^th.

The 7^th sign of the Zodiac, Air sign Libra, inclines us towards cooperation with partners – searching for balance, fairness and calm.Others feel good around you. Pretty up yourself and your surroundings, get with people, spread cheer – invite a few folks to watch fireworks (and / or cocktails)?

We will be nudged to learn something new, meet and greet, read and write, chat too much/gossip too much, want to be in two places at once (that Castor/Pollux, “duality” thing). And don’t forget travel, whether it be real or arm chair, the search for greener grass will be enticing.

This can all be such a good time, but also exhausting. Rather than be overwhelmed or scattered, hit the pause button occasionally. Collect your thoughts, watch what you say (Gemini verbal cleverness is legendary, just don’t be verbally careless), re focus, complete tasks that need to be finished, then go on to the next.

Take the opportunity on Friday and Saturday to use the Virgo Moon to get all practical, responsible and stuff. As the steady, efficient Mercury ruled 6^th sign of the Zodiac, Virgo reminds us of the importance of health, nutrition and service – it will lend itself to a guilt free “what’s next” – the very social Libra.

Very early on Sunday April 13, 2014, the Moon moves into relationship focused Libra and remains there until Monday’ . We can network. We can initiate sparkling conversations. We can schmooze. Ruled by lovely Venus, Libra really appreciates comfort in both surroundings and partnerships. You can fill the balance of the weekend with silk and cashmere quality events if you want – people, pretty things. Sounds good to me.

The Moon will be in the health and service oriented Earth sign Virgo beginning Friday morning which will be great for getting things done – but wait, there’s more. It’s that time again! On Sunday March 16, 2014, the Moon (Virgo) is opposite and reflecting the Sun (Pisces) = “Full Moon”. This Lunar phase wants us to complete projects, crystallize ideas, finalize whatever vitamin or diet regimen you may have been planning.  

The hard working 6^th sign of the Zodiac is about handling the details. Just be careful not to do too many things at once. Juggling might be exciting and a personal test of skills, but don’t go overboard. Think “pace”. The universe will support you in being productive, useful, healthy and whole.

A Sagittarius Moon from early Saturday, February 22, 2014, until early Monday morning will have us getting out and about, seeing people, being optimistic. An enthusiastic “We can-do-anything” frame of mind is a definite trait of this good natured, Jupiter ruled Fire sign. There may be sudden urges to travel and seek adventure, which can add up to a fun weekend.  

With a  Sag Moon, taking chances, taking risks can seem very attractive and stimulating. But, no matter how great the scheme sounds, you still must stay grounded enough to get all the facts (an exact measurement for the Bungee drop rope is a good idea). But, it’s nice to know that the universe and lunar energy are on your side.  (Mercury is still retrograde, so pay attention to the details.)

Have an upbeat, up tempo weekend!

A Gemini Moon, beginning on Friday, February 7, 2014, will have us looking for folks to chat with, tweet with, or just to keep company with. (Yes, I know, don’t end sentences with a preposition – rules are made to be broken.) We will probably have a lot to say!

But, let’s not get too loose and “clever”. Communication planet Mercury rules Gemini (and Virgo) and is now going retrograde until 2/28/14. When it treks backward in the sky, it can often lead to interaction breakdowns, misunderstandings, etc. A snippy Twitter or FB post can grow legs and follow you around for a few days. (You’ll have to spend time next week deleting & apologizing, deleting & apologizing, deleting & apologizing…)

The urge to exchange ideas and deep thoughts, or just gossip, will be strong. Have fun, spread knowledge, teach something, learn something, enjoy the youthful energy that is particularly Gemini.
