The Sun shines in versatile, curious, Air sign Gemini on Saturday, May 20, 2017 and it will give us the urge to chat up all who pass our way. Mercury, the communication planet, rules the 3^rd sign of the Zodiac and regardless of whether you tweet, Facebook, mobile or have an old fashioned face-to-face, it wants us to interact in order to add variety to life and just generally perk things up. Gemini has the “twins” as its Astrology symbol (think Castor/Pollux) and we will want to  double the fun regardless of our actual birth sign – needing to be in 2 places at once, doing 2 things at the same time. On Monday March 20, 2017, not only do we get to welcome the youthfulness of Spring, we also get to celebrate the Sun’s transit into Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac.

Fire sign Aries is active, aggressive and adventurous. In the past 12 months, the Sun has transited all 12 Zodiac signs and at 1 degree of Aries, the cycle starts anew and so can we. We should keep our eyes open for opportunities on the horizon.

Ruled by the warrior planet Mars, the influences of Aries’ high energy can be used to springboard ideas and projects that have been percolating all winter. However, with unpredictable, non conformist planet Uranus visiting until 2019, recklessness, with the often resulting scattered energies can result in waste – time, energy, money. The Autumn Equinox arrives the same day as the Sun glides into charming Libra on Thursday September 22, 2016. Relationships of all types are now in the forefront for the next few weeks – family, friends, marriages, business partners. It’s fun to be with people, to chat, flirt, cajole. This very social 7^th sign of the Zodiac, ruled by Venus, seeks cooperation and genial negotiations in both business and personal interactions.

The Libra way is to see both sides of an issue before making decisions. Seeking harmony by trying to be “fair” can sometimes lead to appearing wishy-washy. Using the “Pros/Cons” list method for making decisions can just draw the selection process out. Be aware that important action can be stalled by over think. Paying attention to instinct and being honest will give a more direct line to a choice. There will be a New Moon, and Solar Eclipse, in Earth sign Virgo on Thursday, 9/1/16. The energies of this solid 6^th sign of the Zodiac will be intensified. Since it is ruled by communication planet Mercury, analytical Virgo’s written and verbal interaction is revved up. Don’t spend too much time being critical of others or yourself. Being constructive will be better appreciated.

Like all “New” Lunar phases, the next 2 weeks are a great time for initiating, creating = new beginnings. Use it to organize and de-clutter both mind and surroundings. Take care of needed changes now, start fresh.

At last, Gemini planet ruler Mercury is no longer Retrograde. The communication planet is gaining forward speed and we are able to get traction on tech, transportation, information plans, etc. A perfect time to implement ideas that have been percolating or launch projects that have been stuck for awhile. There will be a New Moon in this talkative, flexible, versatile 3^rd Zodiac sign on June 4, 2016.

The Moon is considered “New” when the Sun and Moon are in the same Astrology sign. The universe encourages us to begin, initiate and create. When the Lunar orb is in clever, intellectual Gemini, we will want to teach, learn, share thoughts, tell stories at length regardless of who wants to listen. So get your facts straight. On Tuesday April 19, 2016, the Sun moves into stubborn and determined Taurus. It has the Bull as its Astrology symbol, however, since it is ruled by the lovely, romantic planet Venus, this sign has several other dimensions. It can be stuck and resistant to change, but also, a sensual lover of beauty, good food and luxury. While appreciating all the comforts, the second sign of the Zodiac also wants us to be financially secure at all times.

For the next few weeks, regardless of Sun sign, we can all tap into those Taurean traits of strength and endurance so that we solidify and complete the projects started during the high energy of the Aries Sun. Watch out for a tendency to be overcautious – don’t miss an opportunity out of fear. Security is attractive, especially in this financial climate, but, sometimes we have to take a second look to see the advantage.

Taurus luxe will be sweetened by visiting Venus , 4/30 – 5/24 and financial situations can be muddled by a Mercury transit, which began on 4/6, going Retrograde, 4/28 – 5/23 (clever, Mercury remains in Taurus until 6/23/16). A Full Moon phase is a great time to move towards finalizing whatever project or diet regimen you may have been planning. The universe will support you in being healthy and contributing.

What a way to start the year! The first Mercury Retrograde of 2016 begins on Tuesday, January 5. Are ya ready for this?

Mercury is concerned with all forms of information, travel, education, tech stuff and small appliances. Labeled, “the Communication planet”, it’s often confusion generating backward sky motion begins in humanitarian, revolutionary, group oriented Air sign Aquarius, reverses back to ambitious, responsible Earthy Capricorn on 1/9/16 and stops there on 1/25/16. It’s Direct motion towards Aquarius will begin again shortly thereafter.

With Aquarius in the mix, ruled by eccentric, revolutionary Uranus, transportation, team plans and technical mix ups can occur. As always, back up, double check, confirm. Make sure everyone is on the same page and shows up for the rally at the right place. (Difference between Paris, TX and Paris, France – that sort of thing. Seems silly, but it happens)

On 1/9, when the planet backs into 10^th sign of the Zodiac Capricorn, the possibilities of disturbances still apply but with more focus on career, status, security, finances, etc. Go over business details, written communications, personal and business budget plans that may need tweaking. Catch an error and “save face”, save money.

Things will gradually become clearer as Mercury picks up speed. You’ll be able to go forward with anything you may have discovered during the pause and refresh time out. If you can, wait a few days after Mercury’s forward motion before firming up new partnerships and signing contracts or agreements.

Of course, life goes on, there are chores and plans that must be handled regardless of what Mercury is doing. Retrograde chaos is not inevitable. We can mitigate potential misunderstandings by paying attention to the details.

BTW: Mercury just “appears” to go backwards. Planets only move forward, however, due to the earth’s changing speed as it orbits around the Sun, the positions are such that it looks like a reverse motion from earth.

The Sun is in Sagittarius, which means that this month’s Full Moon, on Wednesday November 25, 2015, is in the opposite sign – Gemini. While the Moon is in the Mercury ruled 3^rd sign of the Zodiac, communication is key. Speaking / writing can tend towards the witty and the clever, but with “Full” energy, our interactions can also be purposeful, powerful and precise. I love this quote from Deepak Chopra:
