Celebrate * Gemini Sun 5/21/15

On Thursday May 21, 2015, the Sun bounces into the fun, flirty, focus challenged, flexible, flighty third sign of the Zodiac. The natural versatility of Gemini, with its willingness to adapt, keeps the wrinkles, both mental and physical, at bay. While under its influence, we will feel encouraged, regardless of birth sign, to teach, learn, meet and greet, read and write, chat too much/gossip too much and try to be in two places at once (that Castor/Pollux, “twins” thing). And don’t forget travel, whether it be real or arm chair, the search for greener grass will be enticing.

astrology_chartwheel 2Our social interaction becomes even more important as planet ruler Mercury, (communications, education, short journeys) transits Gemini until 7/8/15. Also, warrior planet Mars (force, impatience, leadership) visits until 6/25/15. This Air sign’s tendency towards smart ass cleverness is legendary – so watch any urges to indulge in snarky, aggressive verbal or twitter smack downs regardless of how amusing you think they might be. (Then you have to spend time retracting, erasing, apologizing…)

This can be such a good time, but also exhausting. Rather than rush around feeling overwhelmed or scattered, hit the pause button occasionally, re focus, complete tasks that need to be finished, then go on to the next. Half done is half accomplished.

Scorpio Full Moon 5/3/15 – Intense!

Astro Moon FullThe Taurus Sun is reflected in the opposite Scorpio Moon = a beautiful Full orb in the passionate, emotional 8th sign of the Zodiac. Ruled by transformational planet Pluto, (traditional ruler is warrior planet Mars) there are deep feelings, focus and determination influencing us during this lunar phase with energy to spare. A Full Moon is a good time to figure out what to keep and what to throw away (discard whatever is no longer meaningful, useful, and / or beneficial.) Gauge what has been accomplished since the New Moon and move on to finalize and complete tasks in the next few weeks.

Scorpio also pushes us to focus on money matters that may involve others. Are there any financial issues that need to be cleared or settled– taxes, business ventures? Does anyone owe you anything? Time to collect?

Aries New Moon This Weekend!

Astro New Moon CrescentOn Saturday April 18, 2015, the “New Moon” provides us with a great time to initiate projects and make changes. The Sun has been in Aries, the 1st sign of the Zodiac, since 3/20 and with both luminaries in this assertive, often rambunctious Fire sign, expect some volatile, combustible happenings. Beware of rash moves and acting/speaking without thinking, but since the sign is ruled by active, energetic planet Mars, you can take advantage of all that good aggressive physicality. Go for it! (But, keep the flame thrower in the closet.)

“New” energy will last a few weeks – even as the sign changes to solid,  earthy Taurus. (Full Moon May 3, 2015- best time to complete what you started.)

Moon in High Octane Aries This Weekend!

Astro New Moon CrescentFrom Saturday morning, January 24, 2015, until early Monday, the Moon will be in feisty Fire sign Aries. When the Lunar orb transits the 1st sign of the Zodiac, which is ruled by warrior planet Mars, we feel braver and more physical, more “up for anything”. Depending upon what the “anything” is, it could be the best of times or the most precarious of times.

Aries is great for energy and adventure. You won’t want to sit around for too long in one place. Take advantage of the urge for action and movement – do something exciting, do something different. However, make no rash moves, curb any “in your face”, “won’t back down” reactions. Power down occasionally so that loved ones don’t feel that they’re in the presence of a bulldozer. Have fun and be nice.

Have a dynamic weekend!

Aries Full Moon 10/8/14 – Hold On…

Astro Moon total Lunar Eclipse Blood MoonThis month’s Full Moon, a total Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon), is in Fire sign Aries. The 1st sign of the Zodiac is ruled by “Warrior” planet Mars. Combustible, physical and aggressive, this sign’s usual “in your face” traits will be intensified by the power of a “Full” phase and also by unpredictable transiting Uranus.  Even though currently retrograde, until 12/21/14, it still can be full of surprises and urges for revolution.

Do the suggested Full Moon things – finish up old projects, clarify any fuzzy ideas that keep hanging around (remember Mercury is Retrograde now, so this is a good time to review). Use the extra Aries energy and take action. By clearing out useless stuff, you create space for the “new” ideas, things, spaces, people. However, forceful Aries can be a little over the top sometimes. Don’t torch everything while trying to weed out the old, think things through before the ashes start to float around.

Feisty Aries Moon Weekend!

Beginning on Saturday morning April 26, 2014, extra oomph and extra buzz are just some of the possibilities as a result of the Aries Moon. Got something to do, something to start, something to face???Tap into this Fire sign’s high energy. Astro moon-waning-crescent-l

Moderate the combustion – that whole “catching more flies with honey” thing. Go with the hammer in the velvet glove approach. Personally, I think super things can happen while the Lunar orb is in Mars ruled Aries, as long as feet stay on the ground. Erratic Uranus is transiting and unexpected things can happen. Keep cockiness to a minimum. (Is that even possible with Aries? Well, try.)

Atmosphere calms as the Moon moves into practical Taurus on Monday morning, just in time for beginning of the week duties.

No matter what you do, seize the opportunity and have a fun weekend!

Aries New Moon On Sunday!

Astro New Moon CrescentWe start off the weekend under the influence of the Pisces Moon. Sensitive, mystical, Neptune ruled, Water sign Pisces highlights our caring and empathetic side while also awakening any escapist tendencies under the surface. Stay grounded, make note of any dreams that can be used in the creative process and be kind and compassionate. (But remember, if a story, a promise, a gift seems too good to be true – it probably is) Stay real. Next up, energetic Aries!

A New Moon is usually a great time to create and initiate things, but as the Lunar orb jumps into Aries on 3/29/14, results may seem slow in coming.. You’ve got things to do and you want to do them FAST. (Which is the usual Aries speed of choice) However, it will sometimes feel like you’re slogging thru molasses or there is a bottleneck at the starting gate– too many people at the front of the line trying to get their things done just as quickly. Mars, the Aries ruler warrior planet, is in Retrograde. This occurs only every 2 years and it can show up as restraints, blocked flows, etc. Be aware, focus, watch the temper and be nice, even when patience is wearing thin. Projects can be successful even when in “slow” mode.

*Aries New Moon 3/30/14: 2:45PM Eastern  / 11:45AM Pacific

** Mars Retrograde: 3/1/14 thru 5/19/14

Regardless of what you do, enjoy the weekend!

Spring At Last – Sun In Aries!

Regardless of how endless Winter may have seemed for some of us, Spring is here! It arrives, in the Northern Hemisphere, on Thursday March 20, 2014 – finally. The Vernal Equinox coincides with the move of the Sun into active, aggressive, fiery Aries. In the past 12 months, the Sun has transited all 12 Zodiac signs and the cycle starts anew. At 1 degree of Aries, Spring is ready for us to bloom. The warrior Mars influenced, impulsive, physical high energy of the first Astrology sign can be used to springboard those ideas and projects that have been percolating all winter. Lets get a move on.

astrology_chartwheel 2This is a great time for beginnings, start ups, what to plant, etc. We should keep our eyes open for opportunities on the horizon. The universe will support you. However, with unpredictable, non conformist Uranus visiting super octane Aries until 2019, recklessness can result, so pay attention to those urges to “act” (act out or act up).  “Action” with purpose and focus, rather than just because we’re bored is a good way to go. Aries is prone to rushing, risk taking and scattered energies. Think a project through and complete it. But, don’t forget to have fun. Spring has sprung and everyone can use a little bit of controlled craziness every once in awhile.

As always, those most affected have the Sun and/or Rising sign in Aries, but the rest of us will still feel the feisty vibes somewhere in our lives depending upon where the Fire sign appears in our chart.

FYI – March 20th is also designated as “International Astrology Day”. Always observed on the Equinox, it is a celebration of the ancient art of Astrology.

Get Ready For The Passionate, Intense Scorpio Sun!

astrology_chartwheel 2On October 22, Pacific Time, and October 23, 2013, Eastern Time, the Sun moved into Scorpio the 8th sign of the Zodiac. It brings intensity and deep feelings and can take partnerships to new sensual, sizzling heights.

With its traditional planet ruler Mars (energy and aggression) and its co ruler Pluto, (power and transformation) any superficial skimming of the surface just won’t do. Save the relationship “lite” for another time. Although, being too passionate and emotional may cause us to get wrapped up in life’s drama and then discover that the resulting “overwhelm” does not quite match the situation. Nothing wrong with using an internal pause button when dealing with friends and loved ones to give us a chance to think, rather than just react.

Mercury, communication planet, will be transiting Scorpio (including its 3 week Retrograde period) until December 5, 2013. Saturn, planet of discipline, perseverance, and boundaries, will be visiting Scorpio until December 2014. The demand for the “real”, in conversation and action, goes up a few notches.

Regardless of where it appears in your personal chart, we can accomplish a lot during this time using Scorpio’s power and focus. But also remember that laughter can be used as a balm to stabilize, bring things into perspective and lighten the atmosphere. Save any overflowing angst and/or grudges for another day – it may dissipate as the mood changes.

Sun into Scorpio – 10/22/12 11:10PM Pacific / 10/23/13 2:10AM Eastern

Aries Moon – Action, Risk, Energy!

Astro moon-waning-crescent-lBeginning on Friday 7/26/13 thru Sunday, we are influenced by the impatient, aggressive sign of Aries. (Think “Action figure”)  This Fire sign is the 1st sign of the Zodiac and is ruled by the planet Mars – the patron saint of warriors. Arian Moons are perhaps best for movement rather than mental activity, but still a good time to initiate, take charge- just think it thru and go for it.

Power down occasionally so that loved ones don’t feel that they are in the presence of a bulldozer. Use the sign’s power and physicality to burn off any anger or frustration that might be lurking underneath. But by all means, take advantage of the energy – get crackin’, do something different, conquer new territories, etc., etc.

Have a great weekend!
