Take the opportunity on Friday and Saturday and use the Virgo Moon to get all practical, responsible, “detailish” and stuff. It may sound a little flat and unexciting but it doesn’t have to be. Think of it as preparation for the early morning arrival of the Libra Moon on Sunday July 14, 2013.  We can lose a bit of the pragmatism and reward ourselves with lots of charming conversation, partnership cooperation and sparkling social interactions– maybe a party?

If you heed the call of the responsible, efficient Earth sign Virgo reminding us of the importance of health, nutrition, work and take care of your chores – it could lead to a guilt free end of the weekend. Air sign Libra, ruled by Venus, is about good food, pretty things and lovely people. Not bad. Socialize.

This Air sign’s Moon turns Full early on Wednesday March 27, 2013 reflecting its opposite Aries Sun. Libra Moons can make us cooperative, social with an urge to beautify both ourselves and our surroundings. Good. It will help us tune out/tone down any negative, angry voices out there (or in our heads) charm and beauty – always a good antidote. Be clear in your communications, mean what you say and act accordingly.

As I’ve mentioned in this space before, a”Full” Moon phase packs power and can give our thoughts clarity. It starts the “waning” or decreasing, of the Lunar orb, a good time to gather results or confront the useless – clean up old projects, get rid of outmoded thought patterns and  attitudes in order to clear the way for the “New” Moon on April 10, 2013.

The 1^st Friday of 2013, January 4th, gives us a Libra Moon so that we start the weekend off on an artistic, relationship focused, harmony loving note. Persuade someone over to your point-of-view? Find a compromise? This Air sign fosters good feelings, people activities, beauty and creativity. Smile and enjoy it.

Saturday evening, the Moon will move into serious, secretive, stubborn Scorpio. This Water sign will have us “feel” things. Emotions can be dramatic and intense. No patience for the superficial – “real” conversations, one-on-one connections are demanded, drilling down to reveal the hidden is not unusual. (Going deep has its advantages.)

Another New Moon phase happens early on Monday October 15, 2012. This month, the Lunar orb is “New” in Air sign Libra. When the Sun and the Moon are in the same sign, there is support for innovation, fresh starts, a great time for beginnings. 

Libra’s social traits are intensified and “New” can mean new friends, relationships, partners, contracts, ideas.Find a new BFF, risk a blind date, speed network during a business card exchange party? Pick one. Regardless of what you choose, there will be interaction – it’s up to you just how much charm and cooperation will be spread around.  This dynamic energy lasts about 10 days and as the Moon transits the other signs, different areas of life will be primed for a “start-up”. Go for it!

On Friday October 12, 2012, the Moon will be finishing up its stay in the industrious work and “pay attention to the details” Earth sign of Virgo (great way to finish up all the odds and ends of the week).

On Saturday afternoon, the Moon moves into relationship focused Libra and remains there until Monday. We can network. We can socialize. Ruled by lovely Venus, Airy Libra really appreciates comfort in both surroundings and partnerships. You can fill the bulk of the weekend with silk and cashmere quality events if you want- people, conversation, pretty things.

Warrior planet Mars rules spark plug Aries and it’s “In your face” tendencies can mean direct, honest, competitive rather than just loud and angry. The influence of the Harvest Moon transit thru this sign can make our weekend fast paced and exciting. Take advantage.

The Moon is “waning” on its way to the 3^rd and 4^th quarters, making it a good time to finish up old projects, clean up messes that you have been ignoring for the past few weeks. Once you clear out what has been hanging around, you will create space for the “New” – ideas, things, spaces. (The next New Moon will be 10/15/12 – in Air sign Libra.)

FYI – Harvest Moon 9/29/12, 11:19PM Eastern / 8:19PM Pacific. The first Full Moon after the Fall Equinox is always labeled a “Harvest Moon” (The Equinox occurred on September 22, when the Sun moved into Libra)

*During a “Full” phase, the luminaries are exactly opposite each other. The Aries  Moon is fully lit by the Libra Sun. (Beautiful, dramatic, nothing to fear.)

On Friday, both the Moon and the Sun are in efficient Virgo. That means this month’s New Moon, on Saturday September 15, 2012, will be in that same Earth sign. Like all “New” Lunar phases, the next 2 weeks are a great time for initiating, starting, creating, etc. Use it to organize and de-clutter both mind and surroundings. Take advantage of Virgo’s natural “I’ll handle it” approach to take a look at health and nutrition. Are there things to be improved – diet, exercise? Don’t spend too much time being critical of yourself. Take care of needed changes now.

Thursday, March 8, 2012 has Virgo Full Moon “handle it” energy. With health minded, practical earthy Virgo, the universe will support you as you complete and finalize whatever vitamin/diet and exercise regimen you may have been thinking about or planning. The influences of this Lunar phase will last for several days even after the Moon sign changes. Get it done.

Late that same evening, there will be a shift to Air sign Libra for Friday and Saturday. This Moon makes us gracious, charming and sociable – but, you don’t have to agree with everything that’s presented to you. Stand your ground if you must.

The practical, no nonsense Virgo Moon on Friday January 13, 2012 can act as a buffer to any nervous feelings due to “triskaidekaphobia”. Focus on the usual concerns of this Mercury ruled Earth sign- health, nutrition, service to get thru the day. I have found that Friday the 13^th is usually a lucky day for me. I don’t think it had anything to do with it being a payday or anything? 🙂  Regardless, I expect good things to happen!
