Arriving on Friday morning 11/30/12 and remaining until Sunday, the Moon, Water sign Cancer’s ruler, makes us sensitive and feeling vulnerable when transiting the 4^th Astrology sign. Be creative, be pro active, try to keep any mood swings at bay. You can always cook something, set a pretty table. It’s the perfect outlet for all that “nurture” driven energy for which comfy, caring Cancer is noted. Domesticity has its merits – make family and friends comfortable. Make everyone feel at home.

BTW: Energy change on Sunday evening when the Moon struts into the regal sign of fiery, “Hey look at me!” Leo. There is a definite potential for drama and romance – fun. Dress up.

It happened in 2000 (remember those “hanging chads”?) and it happens again on Tuesday, November 6. Mercury goes “backward” on the day we vote. This is the planet of communication, travel, manual skills, fact gathering and analysis – things that have to do with being with people, places and things. When Retrograde, the possibilities for confusion, frustration, impatience are heightened. However, we can prepare ourselves so that fallout is reduced. We just need to be careful and pay attention. It can be done!

If you’ve waited until Election Day to vote in person, instead of using an “early voting” option, confirm your polling station, be ready to wait in line if need be – baby sitter, work skeds, water/bathroom breaks, don’t rush or get yourself flustered. Have the appropriate ID and any documentation required in your county, city, state to cast a ballot. Make the selections that you want – your vote counts (regardless of which direction Mercury is moving).

The Retrograde begins in Fire sign, Sagittarius. Sag is fun loving and forever optimistic. It’s about big dreams, big ideas and a general “Yes” attitude. During the next 3 weeks, the effervescence may dim a little, luck may seem harder to come by. Look before jumping into situations, do verbal filtering so that feelings aren’t stepped on. As always, where Mercury appears in the individual chart determines what part of life is most affected by the planet’s Retrograde motion, but regardless, being careful and mindful of pitfalls is a good thing for all of us.

Retrograde “re” suggestions– review, rewrite, rethink, etc – are not really for going backwards into the past but giving us time to make changes and re evaluations for the future.  If it’s important, re do it if needed.

November 6 – (6:04PM EST / 3:04 PM PST) until November 26- (5:48 PM EST / 2:48PM PST). Mercury backs into Scorpio on 11/14. It stops, goes Direct on 11/27 reaching Sagittarius again on 12/11/12

On the afternoon of Friday October 26, 2012, the Moon explodes into the physical, aggressive sign of Aries. (Think “Action figure”.)  This Fire sign is ruled by the planet Mars – the unofficial patron saint of warriors. Arian Moons are better for movement rather than mental activity, but still great for initiating plans, rallying the troops, getting things moving- just think things thru before going all out.

Use Aries physicality for sports activities, DIY sweat producing projects and kinetic movement. Try to dull any Martian quick temper reactions that might be lurking. Keep a lid on angry rash moves. Just have a good time being busy.

Time to perk up! Early Friday morning, August 24th, the Moon will bounce into optimistic, jovial Fire sign Sagittarius for a 2 day visit. Take a risk, spread a little cheer or have a deep and philosophical conversation about something (an often forgotten Sag trait).

Early on Sunday morning, the Moon slips into the “all about business” Earth sign of Capricorn. Ruled by serious Saturn, the 10^th sign of the Zodiac has a duty, responsibility and authoritarian focus. Take charge of something.

Ok, we’re just about there. Mercury halts its backward movement (Retrograde), stops (Stations) and goes forward (Direct) again in Leo  on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Hope any snafus, malfunctions, lapses, disconnects were none too many and eventually salvageable.

In the next few days, plans should become unstuck, deals remade and printers should work again. Congratulations – we made it thru!

On Friday morning August 3, 2012, the moon gentles its way into vulnerable, sensitive, creative, often mystical Pisces. A Water sign, ruled by impressionable Neptune, the Pisces Moon may have you looking for an escape to another world by any means handy, but stay grounded, stay in body. Don’t let “feelings” overwhelm you or lose your grip on the real. Be as caring and compassionate as you wish, just don’t be taken in by any sad stories or promises too good to be true.

Sunday afternoon, we are thrust into the next Moon sign – “in your face”, high energy, high octane, fiery Aries for 2 days. Stand up for yourself, but be nice. Temper the Aries vinegar with some leftover Pisces honey.

“Good day sunshine” as we all experience the dramatic, upbeat, Fire sign, Leo Sun for the next few weeks.

The 5^th sign of the Zodiac is noted for its enthusiasm, generosity, “stick with me and great things can happen” approach. Of course it’s ruled by the Sun, therefore Leos demand rightful attention and will appreciate those that revolve around them. Take advantage and bask in all that light and warmth (I don’t mean the weather) and do “La Dolce Vita” stuff. Time to step up and step out.

“Regal” is the key word when the Sun Queen/King presence heats the talent, self confidence and flirtatious love segments of life. No need to show off. Graciously ooze that Leo charm and you will be looked at, admired, loved – just watch the imperiousness.

**BTW: The date when the Sun transits into a sign can fluctuate year to year -19, 20, 21, 23. If born on one of these days, you are considered a cusp baby – close to two signs- but regardless, there is only one Sun sign in an Astrology chart  (however, the individual will often exhibit a combo of characteristics from both signs).

Colorful and upbeat, Friday’s Leo Moon can be a nice kickoff to the weekend. This Fire sign always adds fun, creative possibilities to life. Be kind and generous in spirit this weekend, have a good time. (The Sun will in Leo early Sunday morning) 

Saturday and Sunday changes our energy a little when the Moon moves into Earthy Virgo. Its traits of practicality and responsibility will give focus to doing what is needed. On Saturday afternoon, the Virgo Moon will provide a change of pace and direction. This Earth sign influences us to be grounded, practical and conscientious. We can take the time to address any nitty gritty bits that might have been overlooked during the previous few days. (It can get us out of trouble. Could be useful?)

Just another heads up – early today, 3:49am EDT / 12:49am PDT, planet Mercury began its Retrograde motion in Fire sign Aries (it appears to move backward in the sky). Snafus lurk behind transportation, technical, and communication corners. But, the confusion does not have to be inevitable. We can mitigate the potential mess by paying attention to details.

As mentioned in last week’s post, get travel plans and information updated and confirmed, back up files, make sure all those little electronic gadgets are working, etc. and be positive. Rather than think of Mercury Retrograde as a disaster, use the 3 weeks of its backward trek as an opportunity to re evaluate and /or re process. When the planet goes forward again, new plans will have the clarity and energy needed to get off the ground.
