Cancer Moon on Friday June 27, 2014 and when both luminaries, Sun and Moon, are in the same sign, the Moon is designated as “New”. As always during this Moon phase, we are encouraged to begin a project, launch an idea. With sensitive, family focused, Water sign Cancer, it will probably involve something close to home. Emotions may be very close to the surface, nerve endings exposed – “Feelings, whoa, whoa feeeeelings…”.  Be careful not to over react if friends, loved ones seem clueless and tactless during this time, but do pay attention to your heightened instincts. The universe really is telling you something. Try to use any uncovered vulnerability creatively and imaginatively.

By early Sunday, the Moon will have moved into regal and happy Fire sign Leo – a definite attitude change. The 5^th sign of the Zodiac is ruled by the Sun and is noted for its enthusiasm and attention getting persona. Take advantage and bask in all that light and heat.

Cancer New Moon June 27, 2014 – 4:08AM EDT / 1:08AM PDT

This weekend, the Moon will shift us thru a variety of moods. It’s all good, we can handle it.

The Lunar orb is in generous, dramatic (great for actors), attention seeking, creative Leo on Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21. Ruled by the Sun, this fun loving Fire sign may add some drama, but we will be active, upbeat, and magnanimous, which can make for a really good time.

On Sunday, the energy changes when the Moon moves into Earthy, service oriented Virgo. Its traits of practicality and responsibility will give focus to doing what is needed. Take care of loose ends, pay attention to the details, handle business – accomplishment is exciting and makes you feel proud:)

Whatever you do, make it a weekend to remember!

No time for trivialities, the Scorpio Moon on Friday June 1, 2012, will render us focused, fierce and fearless. This is serious. You may want to dial down some of the accompanying emotion and save room for tapping into the natural seductive energy of this Water sign. Use it to get what or who you want. Take advantage of all that Scorpio power, go for the goal – just remember to smile sometimes. Honey works.

A Sagittarius Moon, the next sign in the Zodiac, is waiting to follow. Life perks up with Fire sign Sag’s early Sunday morning arrival. Be upbeat, be charming, take a trip, take a chance. Check off a fun item from your bucket list – you’ll feel good about it.

Early Friday morning, 8/5/11, a Scorpio Moon sends us into determined, sensitive, moody territory. Always passionate, always powerful, this Water sign is ruled by Pluto, planet of extremes. Secrets, long hidden truths can be uncovered leading to deeper connections with others. This can be great or not. Remain aware of emotional temperatures, if heading toward the “Red Zone” – brake, if you want to.

A Sagittarius Moon is up next on Sunday in time for a bountiful, breezy, brunch. For the next few days, until Tuesday afternoon, there may be this unexplained, underlying need for adventure, taking risks due to the impulses generated by the Jupiter ruled Fire sign. Have fun, but don’t go too extreme-if you need a net, use it. (Nobody becomes a”Flying Wallenda” overnight.)

Tuesday 8/2/11 begins the second Mercury Retrograde for the year. The communication planet last went backward in March and you may recall how you waded through whatever snafus or confusion resulted. You can do it again!  Be alert, nail down exactly when that bus/ train/ plane is scheduled to leave. Make sure your PC/iPhone/iPad/Mobile, etc. is in top form and kept charged. Also, if your gas gauge shows “E”, believe it. Mercury Retrograde, which begins 11:50Pm Eastern / 8:50PM Pacific, is not the time to test your luck. Instead of Margo Channing’s classic line, “Fasten your seatbelt. Its’ going to be a bumpy night”, it’s actually going to be a “bumpy” 26 days.  (btw: the quote is from the movie All About Eve.  It was on TV a few weeks ago – love it.) 

The Retrograde starts in Earth sign Virgo, transits backward into the 5^th Zodiac sign Leo on 8/8 and continues its reverse until it finally stops on 8/26 (still in Fire sign Leo). Mercury then goes Direct and you may notice the fog lifting, gadgets working again, etc.  However, it will not reach the sign it rules, Virgo, again until 9/9. That is when communications, written or spoken and plans you may have for health / diet upgrades will really take flight. When Mercury is in one of the signs it rules, Gemini is the other, their traits are energized. Analytical, practical Virgo should show up and be about taking care of the details, getting things done.

In the mean time, remember my usual suggestions for Mercury Retrograde – see it as an opportunity to review, reconsider, re-think. However, note that as we do this, we are not going backwards into the past, we are pro actively making any needed changes, re evaluations for the future.  A good thing.
