Astrology: Weekend Moon in Fun Sagittarius 1/28/11
Time to perk up! On Friday morning, January 28th, the Moon will bounce into optimistic, jovial Sagittarius for a 2 day visit. Thoughts turn to travel and adventure – fun. Get out and about, see people. Lucky Jupiter rules this Fire sign and lovely Venus remains in Sag (until February 3rd) so take a chance on romance?
Early on Sunday morning, the Moon marches into the “all about business” Earth sign Capricorn. The 10th sign of the Zodiac has a duty, responsibility and authoritarian focus. It’s all good.
Have a delightful weekend!
Astrology: New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Capricorn 1/4/11
The first New Moon of 2011 happens on Tuesday January 4th. If that isn’t exciting enough, there will be a Solar Eclipse occurring on the same day in the same ambitious, career minded Earth Sign of Capricorn.
As I’ve said before, New Moons are always full of “beginning” possibilities, and with a Solar Eclipse happening also, the power to create amazing things is huge-er than usual (Yeah, I know, I’m really starting to take too many liberties with spelling and word construction). However, Saturn, Capricorn’s planet ruler, can supply the pragmatism and discipline to go with this sign’s natural tendency to go forward and pursue a path to success.
Even though the Moon will change signs on Wednesday (Aquarius), “New” energy lasts for about 10 days giving us a chance to make some plans, formulate some strategies, start something good. Yes, Happy New Year!
BTW- Solar Eclipse: As seen from the Earth, a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and the Moon fully or partially covers the Sun as viewed from some location on Earth. This can only happen during a new moon, when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction as seen from Earth. (per Wikipedia)
Astrology: Sagittarius Moon for a Happy New Year Weekend!
On Friday, New Years Eve, the Moon will move into Sagittarius, 5:21PM West/ 8:27PM East, just in time for the 2011 ball drop, fireworks, happy smooches. This fire sign shouldn’t disappoint. Upbeat, uptempo, optimistic vibes will be out there to elevate our mood.
2011 – a blank slate, an empty canvas, can be exciting. We can fill our empty calendars with fresh events and big plans. Acknowledge our accomplishments and triumphs from 2010 and those that supported us thru them. Say “thank you”. Celebrate. Choose joy.
On Sunday evening as the Moon moves into Earthly Capricorn, we can use this sign’s ambition and structure to start the year with focus and purpose.
Astrology: Reminder – Mercury Still Retrograde Until End December
The final Mercury Retrograde of 2010 began on December 10th in the Earth sign of Capricorn. The Communication planet continues its backward moves until December 29th West Coast/ 30th East Coast.
It will stop motion in Capricorn, back into Sagittarius on December 19th and continue until it reverses to Direct at the end of the month. (it will move forward and reach Capricorn again on January 13, 2011)
Mercury is all about writing and speaking. Also, transportation, types of movement, how we deal with variety. Capricorn is the 10th sign of the Zodiac and is associated with career, ambition and duty. Since Mercury Retrograde can often cause confusion, misunderstandings, snafus – my suggestion is to rethink, re plan, revisit communications that are business and/or responsibility related. Are there any “being in charge” details that need to be looked at again, points sharpened, thoughts explained more clearly. Tighten up a resume, go over job interview skills, review details of any scheduled appointments. (Catch an error and “save face”.)
This is the Holiday season and Mercury will eventually back into upbeat Sagittarius, the sign of “more”. This can be great fun, but, with all the busyness, have you overlooked any details? Be organized. Make sure those toys have the batteries needed. Don’t book a flight to Paris,Texas when you actually made plans to meet friends at the Eiffel Tower. (No disrespect to Texas intended). Misreading a bank balance can fog the reality that 10 bottles of champagne is more manageable than a case?
As always, where Mercury appears in the individual chart determines what part of life is most affected by the planet’s Retrograde motion, but regardless, being careful and mindful of pitfalls is a good thing. Delay major plans if you can until after the 1st of the year.
Astrology: Full Capricorn Moon With Lunar Eclipse!
On Friday evening 6/25/10, the Moon moved into authoritarian Capricorn for the entire weekend. And today, Saturday 6/26, the Moon not only becomes “Full”, but there will also be a “Lunar Eclipse”.
I still insist that Full Moons are not the Universes way of giving us an excuse to act out/ freak out, however, a Lunar Eclipse can be intense. All that emotional Moon energy is amped to a higher level.
Since Saturn ruled Capricorn needs to be businesslike and in charge, don’t go overboard during this time. Be nice to your employees, decide on what you want to get done, what you want to accomplish and stick to it. No need to go into “Myth of Sisyphus” mode. Don’t take all the duties of the world on your shoulders. You don’t have to sign off on everything. Loosen up, stop grinding your teeth, the world is not ending (at least not this weekend).
By Monday morning the Moon will be in innovative, unpredictable Aquarius. (Unplanned events are favored.)
Full Moon: Happens when the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs (Sun/ Cancer – Moon/Capricorn)
Lunar Eclipse: “A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth such that the earth blocks the sun’s rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, there is always a full moon the night of a lunar eclipse.” Per Wikipedia
Astrology: Scorpio Full Moon April 28
Things might get a little intense. Scorpio, a passionate water sign, can be emotional and sensitive and the force of a Full Moon can distill all that power into a cauldron of “feelings”. Don’t take everything personally. You don’t have to go into automatic revenge mode – wait a few days. The comment or action that brought you to either anger or tears may not have been as evil as imagined. Regardless, it is not anything that can’t be handled. As Oprah says, “this too shall pass”.
BTW: A Sagittarius Moon begins Thursday evening – a definite change of pace. Take advantage of the optimistic atmosphere. Life is good – enjoy it!
So, have fun Friday and Saturday because Sunday morning will be Capricorn Moon’s turn to influence our subconscious: thoughts turn to business, responsibility, career. (Needless to say, they too are important parts of our multi-layered lives.)
Astrology: Sag Moon – Good Times!
Perk up! The Moon has moved out of brooding, intense Scorpio and into optimistic, upbeat Sagittarius. We always feel a lift in spirits after this transition. Thoughts turn to travel and adventure – fun. But, go easy on the chocolate bunny treats.
(We’ll get back to business on Sunday evening with the Moon shift into responsible, Capricorn.)
Happy Easter!
Astrology: Moving Planets
Wednesday March 10th is a busy day –”planetarily” speaking.
The Moon is currently in the ambitious, business focused Earth sign of Capricorn until 1:59 pm PST Wednesday. Ruled by Saturn, a Capricorn Moon can be a time of very deliberate movement. That sluggishness, coupled with the Retrograde Mars, might give a feeling of walking in molasses when it comes to any career plans. However, the Moon only stays in a sign for 2 to 2 ½ days. It will move into the innovative, unrestrained Air sign of Aquarius by the evening of the 3/10.
As mentioned a few weeks ago, the volatile planet Mars (in the Fire sign of Leo), retrograde since December, will reverse and go forward on the same day. But, before a planet can reverse, it must slow down to a standstill. As it does that, the planet’s themes/characteristics are enhanced. Look out for hot tempered issues, rash judgments, impatience as it starts its direct motion. Things will really speed up as we get to the weekend and the New Moon. Get something started!
