Thursday February 3rd celebrates the Chinese Lunar New Year. 2011 is designated as the “Year of the Rabbit”.
Thought of as lucky, friendly and considerate, the “Rabbit” is expected to spread a calming peacefulness. A quieter, gentler mood is anticipated for this year.
With the Chinese calendar, each of the 12 months is represented by an animal with its particular characteristic Rat, Horse, Ox, Sheep, Tiger, Monkey, Rabbit, Rooster, Dragon, Dog, Snake, Pig.
FYI: The Chinese Lunar New Year, unlike the “Sun” calendar, can begin on a different date each year – The Year of the Dragon 2012, begins on 1/23/2012.
