Vigorous Aries, Sensual Taurus – Weekend Moon Transits

The Sun is already in Aries when the New Moon arrives in the same sign on Thursday March 22, 2012. With both luminaries in Mars ruled Aries, expect a busy, rambunctious beginning to the weekend. (Just remember to power down if necessary.) However, the mood will shift, from the physical, aggressive 1st sign of the Zodiac to the 2nd – calm, gracious, Venus ruled Taurus on Saturday afternoon thru Monday evening.

It’s good to access all sides of ourselves and take advantage of the different influences and vibes that a changing Moon brings. Make variety work for you. Like one of those Las Vegas buffets, select whatever fills you, serves you best – utilize.

The Sun is in Aries * It Must Be Spring!

The cycle begins again with the Sun entering fiery, Mars ruled Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac. Besides being the beginning of the Astrological New Year, March 19, 2012 (10:15pm PDT) / March 20, 2012 (1:15am EDT) is also the first day of Spring – the Vernal Equinox. I always have the urge to start waving a checkered flag and yelling “start your engines” at this time of year. I love it.

This is a great time for beginnings, start ups, what to plant, etc. We should keep our eyes open for opportunities. That Aries impulsive, physical, amped energy can be used to bungee jump off that mountain of ideas and projects you’ve been stewing about all winter. The universe will support you. However…

With unpredictable, eccentric, Uranus visiting this super octane sign, for 7 more years, wildness can result, so pay attention to those urges to “act” – act out or act up.  Action with purpose and focus rather than just because we’re bored is a good way to go. Aries is prone to rushing, risk taking and scattered energies. Think a project through and complete it.  But, don’t forget to have fun. Spring has arrived and everyone can use a little bit of controlled craziness every once in awhile.

As always, those most affected have the Sun and/or Rising sign in Aries, but the rest of us will still feel the feisty influences somewhere in our lives depending upon where the Fire sign appears in our chart.

Capricorn and Aquarius – What a Weekend Moon Combo!

Moon in Capricorn on Friday, March 16, 2012 – Moon in Aquarius on Saturday and Sunday. Our Lunar mood influences will range from the business focused Earth sign to the people person Air sign – work hard, be in charge on Friday and attend a community fund raiser, charm volunteers for a neighborhood project for the rest of the weekend? It’s doable!

However, just remember to utilize, wherever possible, the energy of the particular sign the Lunar orb is visiting on a particular day:

*Dutiful, Saturn ruled Capricorn: Authority, ambition, organization

*Spontaneous, Uranus ruled Aquarius: Friendly, innovative, thrives in groups with a cause

Mercury Retrograde 3/12/12 Reminder!

Just another heads up – early today, 3:49am EDT / 12:49am PDT, planet Mercury began its Retrograde motion in Fire sign Aries (it appears to move backward in the sky). Snafus lurk behind transportation, technical, and communication corners. But, the confusion does not have to be inevitable. We can mitigate the potential mess by paying attention to details.

As mentioned in last week’s post, get travel plans and information updated and confirmed, back up files, make sure all those little electronic gadgets are working, etc. and be positive. Rather than think of Mercury Retrograde as a disaster, use the 3 weeks of its backward trek as an opportunity to re evaluate and /or re process. When the planet goes forward again, new plans will have the clarity and energy needed to get off the ground.

The Moon: Full in Virgo, Weekend in Libra & Scorpio – Wow!

Thursday, March 8, 2012 has Virgo Full Moon “handle it” energy. With health minded, practical earthy Virgo, the universe will support you as you complete and finalize whatever vitamin/diet and exercise regimen you may have been thinking about or planning. The influences of this Lunar phase will last for several days even after the Moon sign changes. Get it done.

Late that same evening, there will be a shift to Air sign Libra for Friday and Saturday. This Moon makes us gracious, charming and sociable – but, you don’t have to agree with everything that’s presented to you. Stand your ground if you must.

Finally, the arrival of a Scorpio Moon on Saturday overnight closes out the weekend. This intense, emotional Water sign will demand that you drill down and connect with others on a deep level. Superficial just won’t make it. Be self aware – if your speech or actions turn into drama for drama’s sake – ease up. Hit the melodrama pause button.

Whatever you do, have a terrific, accomplishing  weekend!

Mercury Retrograde March 12 – Pause and Refresh

It’s time for those “re” words again – rethink, rework, revisit, revitalize, reduce (not physically). The 1st Mercury Retrograde for 2012 will be upon us on Monday, March 12 in fiery Aries. Take time to go over details while communications planet Mercury goes backwards in the sky. Project initiation/creation would be best delayed, if possible, until it goes Direct again in Water sign Pisces on 4/4 – if not, be meticulous, be careful, “review”.

Let us prepare early. Get travel plans and information updated and confirmed, back up files, make sure all those little electronic gadgets are working, etc. However, be positive. Rather than think of Mercury Retrograde as a disaster, use the 3 weeks of its backward trek as an opportunity to re evaluate and /or re process. When the planet goes forward again, new plans will have the power and energy needed to get off the ground.

But waiting, thinking things through, dealing with the details, may be easier said than done. Mars ruled Aries is a naturally impatient spark plug urging us to jump off that ledge or send verbal shocks to the universe just because – it’ll be sooooo exciting. This is not such a good time for Aries rashness and risk.  If you must walk on the wild side, look before you leap, take a breath before you speak (It can still be fun).

Life will continue to happen. We will get through it!

Weekend Moon in Compassionate, Caring Cancer 3/2/12

The Moon is comfy this weekend as it sits in the Zodiac sign it rules. Watery, moody Cancer gets us ready for family, food and home. Domesticity has its merits, make yourself, and anyone who happens to stop by, comfortable and happy if you can. You’ll enjoy it. 

The Cancer Moon is all about emotions, therefore sensitivity and vulnerability are heightened. Don’t go looking for hurt feelings – yours or anyone else’s. Avoid cultivating and harvesting dark thoughts. They will pass, so there’s no need to self medicate (in this case, over eat).

Moon Transits for the Weekend – Fierce Aries to Steady Taurus

A snap, crackle and pop Aries Moon will spread its Mars influenced energy Friday, February 24, 2012.  Make sure you have something physical to do. Keep recklessness to a minimum – only get close enough to the edge to stave off boredom. Play nice. Leave the flamethrower in the closet. (Kind of hard to walk back that type of conflagration no matter how many times you say”Sorry, my bad”.)

Just in time for Sunday brunch, the Moon settles into security minded, comfort loving, determined Taurus. This Earth sign is ruled by sensual Venus, so along with a financial review, there will be romantic and luxe tendencies. Have a Mimosa while counting your cash. Take care of yourself and loved ones.

Its Pisces Time!

Sun moves into the 12th and final sign of the Zodiac – imaginative, impressionable, intuitive Pisces. Since it is a Water sign ruled by Neptune, pay attention to your dreams (keep pen and paper next to your bed to take notes 🙂 ) but stay grounded and connected. Over sensitivity to adverse energy or vibrations is no excuse to drift or try to escape. Be steady, be productive, be creative – which can be great for anyone associated with the arts. Ideas for new music, new choreography, new writing might bubble to the surface faster than usual. Pisces Sun on February 18, 2012, 10:18pm Pacific / February 19, 2012, 1:18am Eastern.

As always, those most affected have their Sun and/or Ascendant in Pisces. Note that planets transiting a sign add to the mix. With its ruler Neptune visiting until 2026, traits are intensified and we will probably all have our encounters with the mystical outer planet somewhere in your chart. Neptune has a reputation for clouding thinking, erasing  boundaries, and fostering escapism, but, all these things that make life unsettled can also enhance creativity and imagination. The subconscious is a treasure trove of ideas.

Mercury, the planet of Communication, entered Pisces on 2/14/12 and will exit finally on 4/16/12. Varied Weekend Moon: Bossy Cap / Irreverent Aquarius

The Moon visits the ambitious, status concerned Earth sign of Capricorn on Friday February 17, 2012.  Ruled by Saturn, a Capricorn Moon can be a time of business focused, deliberate movement. It brings out the “administrator” in us – a perfect time to organize, assign tasks, give directions, take charge, move with purpose.

Early Sunday we go from duty bound stoic to friendly rebel – the unpredictable, freedom loving Air sign Aquarius. While under this Uranus ruled sign’s influence, we are in the mood to do something inventive and spontaneous usually with a group. Rally the troops for a favorite cause – they will bow to your command -maybe not quite, but they should be more agreeable than usual. Sort of like those fish (pike?) that don’t wait to be caught, they just jump into your boat. I personally feel that people want to be useful, to make a difference. This is the perfect weekend to herd  a team in the right direction.
