Taurus & Gemini – Together for the Weekend!
Starting with September 12, 2014, the weekend is a mixed bag of possibilities. It can be a loving, luxurious Friday and Saturday or it can be a stubborn, determined 2 days. An earthy, Taurus Moon, ruled by Venus speaks to life’s beauty but its fixed nature also taps into the obstinate “bull” in us. Hmmmm, which way to go?
Change of pace on Sunday, the Moon sends us into the fast talking, multi tasking, change loving world of Gemini. Duality is the key word– yes, we can often do 2 things at once, but no, it doesn’t go well all the time. Be versatile, but focused – it can work.
Have a great and varied weekend!
Harvest Full Moon in Pisces 9/8/14!
Get a grip. Monday’s Full Moon in sensitive, emotional Water sign Pisces is wonderful for creativity and connecting with others, but sometimes not so much for staying grounded in what is actually happening. Be as imaginative, caring and compassionate as you wish, just don’t be taken in by any “too good to be true” promises or “poor me” scenarios. Be present, stay in the moment – dismiss any escapist urges. Reality may often bite, but it can be handled without mind altering options. Take care of your inner self. You matter.
When the Moon is “Full”, the Sun is directly opposite and lights it up. Rather than the more familiar crescent shape, we see it round and beautiful. The Lunar orb is “waning” on its way to the 3rd and 4th quarters, making it a good time to finish up old projects, clean up messes that you have been staring at for the past few weeks.
BTW – “Harvest” is any Full Moon that occurs closest to the Vernal or Autumnal Equinox. (Which will happen when the Sun moves into Air sign Libra on 9/22/14).
Full Moon Pisces: 9/8/14 9:38PM EDT / 6:38PM PDT
Air & Water – Surprising Aquarius / Imaginative Pisces!
Friday afternoon, September 5, 2014, finds us with the Moon in Air sign Aquarius. Ruled by the innovative, unpredictable planet Uranus, we should think in terms of – “anything can happen”. Things can break, things can get fixed, wonderful people can pop up or, people, (who, lets say, can only be called “interesting”) appear out of nowhere. Sudden moves, rapid change, the unexpected – embrace your flexibility.
On Sunday afternoon, the energy changes to a more impressionistic and vulnerable vibe. The Moon shifts into Pisces, ruled by imaginative Neptune. Think empathy and compassion – but don’t “feel” so much that you smother yourself with sad stories. With Water signs, sensitivity can be overwhelming and has us looking for some kind of escape. Stay grounded, keep your eye on what’s real, determine what is credible – you can still spread kindness.
Have a terrific weekend!
Go Passionate, Go Deep – Weekend Moon in Scorpio!
Beginning early Saturday morning, August 30, 2014, the Moon sizzles in sensitive, sensual Scorpio. When the Lunar orb is in the 8th sign of the Zodiac, we can be intense. Going after whom or what you want is just the way it is. Use the seductive energy wisely.
Also, is there anything you want to find out? Search for anyone? Uncover a mystery? A Scorpio Moon provides the determination and energy to discover and handle truths. Secrets are not safe from this Pluto ruled Water sign. No hiding allowed. Some feathers may be ruffled, but the impulse to drill deep and get to the bottom of whatever will be hard to deny.
Have a powerful weekend!
New Moon Monday – Earthy Virgo!
Focus! Both the New Moon and the Sun are in efficient, down to earth Virgo on Monday August 25, 2014. We experience a double dose of the responsible, practical, detail oriented 6th sign of the Zodiac. Like all “New” Lunar phases, the next 2 weeks are a great time for initiating, creating = new beginnings. Use it to organize and de-clutter both mind and surroundings. Take care of needed changes now.
Mercury ruled Virgo is notorious for picking at details. Don’t spend too much time being critical of others or yourself. Being constructive will be better appreciated.
Virgo New Moon: 8/25/14 5:33AM EDT / 2:33AM PDT
Sun in Competent, Practical, Responsible Virgo!
Put the Leo drama and sequins aside. Earth sign Virgo gets a chance at the Sun – Friday 8/22 9:46 PM PDT and Saturday 8/23 12:46 AM EDT. Whether it is your birth sign or not, we will feel the effects of this hardworking, service oriented 6th sign of the Zodiac until 9/22/14. Organize, make plans, plot progress, unravel confusion. Also, implement a good health/exercise regimen. Feeling better helps you work better. It’s all in the details!
Being conscientious doesn’t necessarily mean “dull”. Quick witted Mercury, Virgo planet ruler, has been visiting since 8/16/14 (thru 9/1/14) making us sharper and faster at work. Be aware that judgmental, although clever, words may be seen as “nitpicky” and cause bruised feelings. However, lovely Venus will transit from 9/6 to 9/30/14 and can soften some of those critical, over analytical edges.
Do Virgo things – be useful, bring calm & order, be a contribution.

Spotlight & Glitter – Leo Weekend Moon!
Starting Friday afternoon, August 22, 2014, thru the weekend we can sparkle along with a lively Leo Moon. The 5th sign of the zodiac is a Sun ruled Fire sign, so there will be warmth, creativity, energy and perhaps some prideful “look at me“ antics. You may be overcome with a craving for theatrics, attention and melodrama – just remember that it’s not all about you. (At least share some of the light.) But, do be out there, spread sequined goodness, have some romantic fun times and enjoy.
Have a fab weekend!
For the Weekend: Earthy Taurus/ Airy Gemini!
On Friday August 15, 2014, we are treated to a sensuous yet security concerned Taurus Moon. This fixed Earth sign may have us trying to make choices – either tackling that bank statement or indulging, with your partner, in delicious, chocolate dipped strawberries. Remember, not all things are either/or. “AND” can often work very well too 🙂
Sunday afternoon, the Moon enters Gemini and remains until Tuesday evening. The chatty, quicksilver, variety loving traits of this Mercury ruled Air sign is great for scrabble, catching up on current events (gossiping?), traveling, communication of all kinds. Gemini’s duality (the Twins) can make us clever and versatile and also a little flighty and distracted. Go and chat someone up, but, think before you speak (or push “send” on that email or text).
Taurus and Gemini Moons can mean a very social weekend: delicious food, entertaining conversation, high or low brow literary pursuits, etc. Whichever way you lean, have a great time!
Independent, Unconventional Aquarius Full Moon This Weekend!
This weekend, we will be under the influences of an Aquarius Moon and it will be in its “Full” phase on Sunday August 10, 2014. Be prepared for the unexpected, the (nice?) surprise. This Air sign can be rebellious and unpredictable as it spurs us to become involved with community, special groups and their causes. Relax, go with the flow. Contribute to the universe in some way, make a difference. Be part of a team.
As always, use the Full Moon energy to complete, tie up loose ends on any outstanding projects. In the next 10 days, try to finish anything begun around the time of the New Moon July 26, 2014
Have a purposeful, fun weekend!
“Every Little Step” – What They Do For Love!
If you like the theater and/or you dance, sing, act – you know about the audition process and how nerve wracking it can be.
“Every Little Step” is a very entertaining documentary about that very same weeding out process – whittling from thousands, down to the very few special people who were chosen for the final tryouts to be in the 2006 revival of “A Chorus Line”.
This legendary 1975 Broadway musical about dancers and their lives was conceived and directed by the late Michael Bennett.
The film gets the viewer involved and invested early on so that you start to root for them all to win the few prized spots in the show. In order to make the final cut, these young hopefuls had to be triple threat material – dancer/singer/actor.Their passion and hard work is awe inspiring. These performers love what they do regardless of the disappointments. As one young lady said, “If you don’t have something to ‘fall back on’ you won’t fall back – you just keep going.”
Every Little Step – Excellent!
What I did For Love (by Marvin Hamlisch, Edward Lawrence Kleban):
“Kiss the day goodbye. Point me t’ward tomorrow
We did what we had to do. Won’t forget, can’t regret
What I did for love…”
