Mercury (the planet of communications, transportation, education, gadgets, manual dexterity, etc.) has been Retrograde in Gemini, the Air sign it rules, since 5/29. The planet will stop motion and go Direct again on 6/22. It won’t get up to speed for about 7 days, so continue to be careful when dealing with anything Mercury handles. Back up your stuff! Read carefully if you must sign something and pay attention.

My usual suggestions for Mercury Retrograde time are:  review, re invent, re write, re read, revisit, renew, re think. Take another look at past decisions or old projects that may have been dropped and forgotten. Does an idea deserve another chance, another go round? Was anything missed? Don’t be surprised if someone shows up unexpectedly out of the past.

BTW: Mercury just “appears” to go backwards. Planets only move forward, however, due to the earth’s changing speed as it orbits around the Sun, the positions are such that it can look like a reverse motion from earth.

May 15 & May 16 could be a weekend of emotional mood swings, creativity and / or over the top hospitality as the Moon settles into Cancer, the emotional, caring Water sign it rules. The 4^th sign of the Zodiac can make us sensitive & feeling vulnerable. Avoid cultivating & harvesting dark thoughts. (They will pass, so there’s no need to self medicate with food).

The Sun moves into tenacious, talented & tasteful Taurus on Monday April 19, 2021. The second sign of the Zodiac has the stubborn Bull as its Zodiac symbol – for a good reason. Often unwavering in beliefs, there may be a tendency to hold on even after others have dropped the tug rope. Just remember to “let go” when obstinacy no longer works.

However, Taurus is ruled by the lovely, romantic planet Venus. This Earth sign has several other traits. The Moon will be in energetic Aries Saturday and Sunday, 4/10 and 4/11. When the Lunar orb transits the 1^st sign of the Zodiac, which is ruled by warrior planet Mars, we are more physical and more “up for anything”. Depending upon what the “anything” is, it could be the best of times or the most precarious of times.

Aries loves action and you probably won’t want to sit around anyplace for too long. Also, communication planet Mercury is transiting this high octane sign until 4/19, so not only is motion speeding up, but so is thinking and talking. Take advantage. The Sun moves into Pisces, the 12^th and final sign of the Zodiac on Thursday, February 18, 2021. This is the last stage of a complete transit of the Zodiac. With this sensitive Water sign, feelings are heightened and elevated.  Occasional, over the top emotions may affect all of us regardless of astrology birth sign. Tap into all that compassion and kindness that Pisces is known for and spread it around. Sympathy and empathy abounds, but take off the rose colored glasses – offer assistance where it is genuinely needed.

Mystical Neptune, Pisces’ Planet ruler, will transit until January 2026 (happens about every 165 years). It’s been visiting since February 2011. It has a reputation for clouding the waters, fading boundaries and fostering escapism. Over sensitivity to adverse energy or vibrations may cause a drift away from reality. BTW ~ Just to add to the fun, the start / end dates of a Sun Sign’s duration may “calendar travel” from year to year. Depending on location, year, month and time you were born in the world, the Astrological sign changeover can be anywhere from the 18^th to the 23^rd of the month. The Earth’s rotation actually determines the start dates of a sign – not the Sun. The dates can vary depending on when a leap year occurs.

~ On Saturday and Sunday, 30 & 31 January 2021, the Moon will be in Virgo, the 6th sign of the Zodiac. There is a mood shift from the playful, sunny, “I” oriented “look at me” Leo Moon of the last few days into this health and service oriented Earth sign. Virgo can make us analyze everything and focus on the small stuff. It may not be spotlights and sequins, but, we can have fun while being practical and organized. Make the most of it.

~ As mentioned in a previous post, Communication planet Mercury will appear Retrograde in the sky on Jan 30th (begins in Aquarius) until February 19th, 2021 (going backwards it stops in Pisces) There is the potential to have to repeat or correct actions done during these times – annoying.

If possible, use Retrograde time to do “re” things – review, reread, re evaluate, regroup, re charge. Project creation would be best delayed if possible – if not, be meticulous, be careful. (Jump all over the details.)

The Sun enters independent, intellectual, Air sign Aquarius on Tuesday January 19, 2021. Ruled by Uranus, the planet of unexpected events, this 11^th sign of the Zodiac is also about originality and inventiveness. Not necessarily wild and crazy but definitely sudden change and out of the box thinking.

Community focused Aquarius has a stubborn streak (it is one of 4 “Fixed” signs of the Zodiac, along with Taurus, Scorpio and Leo). This determination often shows up when it involves tackling group issues. Concern for others is authentic – caring, involvement and perseverance to find resolutions to problems that touch others. Contributing to the universe is a given.

Take advantage of this energy regardless of your own Astrology sign. Fill in some of those blank calendar spaces with purposeful action  – find a cause, volunteer, organize a neighborhood, leave a place better than you how found it.
