Scorpio Sun 10/23/11 – Seductive, Sensual, Sizzling!

The Scorpio Sun can infuse us with passion and focus to get projects accomplished, snare that love interest and drill down thru any mysteries that need to be solved. (Think “determination”) Due to the characteristic sensitivity and emotionality of Water signs, Scorpio’s power will not be served distant and cold – there will be drama, there will be depth. Scorpio heat arrived on Sunday October 23, 2:30PM Eastern / 11:30AM Pacific. 

Scorpio is our 8th sign of the Zodiac. It brings intensity and deep feeling. With its traditional planet ruler Mars, energy and aggression, its co ruler Pluto, power and transformation, any superficial skimming of the surface, in conversation or action, just won’t do. Save the relationship “lite” for another time. Note that this deep and real stuff can lead to all sorts of “feelings” that you may not be prepared to confront. So, pay attention, you may get all wrapped up in the emotion and possible acting out scenarios and then discover that the resulting “overwhelm” does not quite match the situation. Nothing wrong with using an internal pause button to give us a chance to think, rather than just react.

We can accomplish a lot during this time using Scorpio’s power and focus. But also remember that laughter can be used as a balm to stabilize, bring things into perspective and lighten the atmosphere. Save any overflowing angst and/or grudges for another day – it may dissipate as the mood changes.

Astrology: Weekend Moon – Solid Taurus/Flighty Gemini 10/14/11

Friday October 14, 2011 is Taurus Moon all day. Venus rules this sensuous yet finance concerned Earth sign along with our current Sun – Airy, beauty loving Libra. Choices to be made? Either tackling that bank statement, or indulging yourself with delicious, chocolate dipped strawberries. Remember, not all things are either/or. “AND” can often work very well too 🙂

Astrology: Feisty Full Moon in Aries 10/11/11

The Sun is still in Libra. It is directly opposite and lights the Aries Moon. Rather than the more familiar crescent shape, we see it round and beautiful. On Tuesday, we have a Full Moon in the first Fire sign of the Zodiac. Aries is ruled by aggressive Mars, so all that typical “in your face” energy, when used with your smarts, can really power thru obstacles.

An Aries Moon is perfect for physical activity. Exercise, clean house, demolish the unnecessary. Get it done! However, we can also be a little over the top with all that warrior combustion. Think it through before you do or say anything too drastic.No need to hurt anyone’s feelings.

Astrology: Creativity Rules for Pisces Moon Weekend!

Starting Friday evening October 7, 2011 a Pisces Moon urges us to paint something, draw something, write something, compose something. Imagination, intuition, impressions surround us this weekend. (Can be great for creativity.) 

Pisces is a sensitive Water sign ruled by vague Neptune. It can give us vibrant dreams, relaxed boundaries and put us in the mood to escape. Generally, this might be okay, but not so much if reality loses anchor.

Do remain grounded and sober. If there is something important to be done, get a grip, focus and handle it, but if it can wait, hold off until things are clearer, less hazy.

Astrology: Moon in Upbeat Sag for the Weekend, 9/30/11

A Sagittarius Moon from Friday night until late Sunday evening gives us the urge to get out and about, see people. Feelings of optimism, abundance and “can-do-anything” are all traits of this Jupiter ruled, good natured Zodiac sign. Thoughts turn to travel and adventure – it can add up to a fun weekend!

This Fire sign always has big thoughts, big plans and big dreams. Astrology: New Moon in Relationship Focused Libra 9/27/11

As I mentioned when the Sun entered the 7th sign of the Zodiac back on 9/23 – the Libra New Moon occurs early in the morning of Tuesday 9/27 and there will be 5 planets residing in this Air sign – Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Sun and Moon. This could be an amazing time full of charming interactions, relationship building and sparkling creativity.  

“New” happens each month when the Sun and the Moon are in the same sign. It is a great time for beginnings of any kind.  Lovely planet ruler Venus, remains until 10/8/11, encouraging and powering up all Libra traits. “New” in this social sign can mean new:  friends, relationships, partners, contracts, etc. (Blind date? Speed networking/business card exchange party?) Regardless of what, there will be smiles and cooperation.

Saturn, planet of hard work and limitations, will be in Libra until October 2012. Are there fixes, adjustments to be done with those that are held close or at a distance?  Saturn may constrict some of the natural Libra relaxed ease with people, but it can also give strength and focus – not to give in to an opposing point of view just to be agreeable. Making decisions can be faster than usual.

Astrology: Weekend Moon in “Look At Me !” Leo 9/23

The Moon is in dramatic (great actors), attention seeking, generous, creative and full of a lion’s pride Leo on Friday and Saturday. This fun loving Fire sign may make our weekend full of melodrama, but we will be active, upbeat, and magnanimous, which can make for a really good time.

Next up is a conscientious, ready to tackle the details Virgo Moon. It’s all good – we can deal with the change to this practical, service oriented Earth sign and the mood switch may give us an inclination to clean up all the sequins and glitter left over from Leo’s antics.

Astrology: Sun into Social Libra 9/23/11 – Fall is Here!

The Fall / Autumnal Equinox arrives the same day as the Sun saunters into Libra on Friday September 23, 2011. Relationships of all types are now in the forefront – family, friends, marriages, business partners. It’s fun to be with people, to chat, flirt, laugh. The 7th sign of the Zodiac, ruled by Venus, loves beautiful things, wants to be in the midst of music, art and charm filled situations  – wants all the good stuff to warm and lift the spirits. My suggestion for anything Libran is always: meet some fun folks for brunch!

Even if it isn’t your Sun or Rising sign, Libra will still cast a glow of congeniality. It’s all about socializing, networking, getting along. There will be cooperation – great time to ask for a raise? build a group of volunteers?

If you have any plans for Tuesday 9/27 – it  should be a stellar day. By the time the Libra New Moon occurs early in the morning, there will be 5 planets residing in this Air sign – Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Sun and Moon (The Lunar orb in its “New” phase makes it even more potent). Libra’s traits should be powered up and enhanced. Not necessarily a “Kumbiyah” moment – but certainly one in which the joy and solidarity of partnership can be embraced by all of us.

Saturn, the task master, the teacher of life lessons (I still refer to it as the Castor Oil of planets), will be in Libra until October 2012. Is there work to be done with those that are held close or at a distance? Are we going to pretend to be “surprised” if a hitch in a relationship shows up, or will we admit that we saw “it” coming? Saturn can reveal, make us look. Tough scrutiny will give an opportunity to get back on track – a good thing. A situation may get healthier, after taking the medicine, regardless of how awful the taste.

The Libra way is to see both sides of an issue before making decisions. Seeking harmony by trying to be “fair” can sometimes lead to appearing wishy-washy. Using the “Pros/Cons” list method for making decisions can just string the selection process out. Be aware that important action can be stalled by over think. Paying attention to instinct and being honest will give a more direct line to a choice. Don’t hesitate to show your spine when needed (some may be surprised when Libra’s inner tensile strength is revealed), you’ll still be loved!

Astrology: Taurus & Gemini Moon – Variety Filled Weekend!

Beginning Friday September 16, a sensual Taurus Moon will work its magic until the multi tasking Gemini Lunar orb brings a different kind of terrific early in the morning on Sunday September 18.  Earthy, Venus ruled Taurus and Airy, Mercury ruled Gemini should make for a social weekend – tender romance, delicious food, entertaining conversation, high or low brow literary pursuits – not bad! 

For the next few days, take advantage of whatever diverse moods and energy are available in the universe due to the changing Zodiac Moon signs. However, note that although Taurus can be loving and full of charm, it can also be stubborn and determined. While Gemini’s duality (the Twins?) can make us clever and versatile, we can also be a little flighty and distracted – so think before you speak or push “send” on that email or text. Choose to use whichever traits work the best for you.
