“Bull” Works! Sun in Taurus April 19, 2012

The Second sign of the Zodiac, Taurus, has the Bull as its symbol. Perfect! The Sun moves into stubborn, steady, strong, security focused Taurus on Thursday April 19, 2012. However, since it is ruled by the lovely, romantic planet Venus, this sign has several other dimensions.

For the next 4 weeks, we can tap into all that muscle and determination so that we solidify and complete the projects started during the high energy of the Aries Sun. Earthy Taurus may be practical and dependable, but its also, sensual, a lover of beauty, good food and luxury. Loved ones are treated to poetry, music and gourmet restaurants, while getting a lecture on avoiding financial pot holes. A nice mix.

Under the influence of a Taurus Sun, watch out for a tendency to be overcautious – don’t miss out on opportunities due to fear. Weekend Aquarius Moon – Get Outside That Box!

Friday afternoon April 13, 2012, a “Triskaidekaphobia” Day, begins an unpredictable, innovative, freedom craving Aquarius Moon weekend. This Air sign is noted for its stubborn resistance to the status quo. Ruled by eccentric Uranus, it influences us to create something “new”, resist authority, and refuse boredom at all costs. It can truly lead to interesting times 🙂

Weekend of Charm & Sizzle – Libra / Scorpio Moon Transits!

Smile seductively this weekend as Friday afternoon April 6, 2012, heralds the Full Moon in lovely Libra, the relationship focused, Venus ruled 7th sign of the Zodiac, to be followed by seriously scorching Scorpio on Saturday and Sunday. Charisma and heat – the possibilities are endless. 

Libra can make us more cooperative, social and elegant with an urge to beautify –people, places, things. We want to tune out/tone down any negative, angry voices in the universe or in our heads and get along- charm and beauty are always good antidotes.

The Moon will slide into powerful, intense Scorpio on Saturday morning. Filled with sensuality and emotion, this Pluto ruled sign can be a force that won’t be denied. Be aware of a tendency to be easily wounded – hold the grudge for 5 minutes max, then move on. Channel some of Libra’s graciousness and balance to smooth out any person to person explosions. Moderation works.

BTW: Mercury finally stopped its Retrograde motion on 4/4 and will pick up forward speed throughout the weekend. If you’ve been feeling restrained, not fully expressed, you will now want to sing a few choruses of the Bob Dylan classic “I Shall Be Released” as life gets its flow back.

Weekend Moon – Cooking Cancer, Then Lighthearted Leo!

Friday afternoon, March 30, 2012, the Moon is in its own sign of nurturing, sensitive Cancer until early morning Sunday when a limelight seeking, colorful Leo Moon graces us with its fun until Tuesday. A Moon ruled Water sign and a Sun ruled Fire sign can make for an interesting weekend. Variety rules!

Cancer wants us to not only phone home but to stay there as well. It’s all about home and family – being safe and comfy. (Try a new cupcake recipe? Set up new behavior protocol for the kids?)

Vigorous Aries, Sensual Taurus – Weekend Moon Transits

The Sun is already in Aries when the New Moon arrives in the same sign on Thursday March 22, 2012. With both luminaries in Mars ruled Aries, expect a busy, rambunctious beginning to the weekend. (Just remember to power down if necessary.) However, the mood will shift, from the physical, aggressive 1st sign of the Zodiac to the 2nd – calm, gracious, Venus ruled Taurus on Saturday afternoon thru Monday evening.

The Sun is in Aries * It Must Be Spring!

The cycle begins again with the Sun entering fiery, Mars ruled Aries, the first sign of the Zodiac. Besides being the beginning of the Astrological New Year, March 19, 2012 (10:15pm PDT) / March 20, 2012 (1:15am EDT) is also the first day of Spring – the Vernal Equinox. I always have the urge to start waving a checkered flag and yelling “start your engines” at this time of year. I love it.

This is a great time for beginnings, start ups, what to plant, etc. We should keep our eyes open for opportunities. That Aries impulsive, physical, amped energy can be used to bungee jump off that mountain of ideas and projects you’ve been stewing about all winter. The universe will support you. However…

With unpredictable, eccentric, Uranus visiting this super octane sign, for 7 more years, wildness can result, so pay attention to those urges to “act” – act out or act up.  Action with purpose and focus rather than just because we’re bored is a good way to go. Aries is prone to rushing, risk taking and scattered energies. Think a project through and complete it.  But, don’t forget to have fun. Spring has arrived and everyone can use a little bit of controlled craziness every once in awhile.

Capricorn and Aquarius – What a Weekend Moon Combo!

Moon in Capricorn on Friday, March 16, 2012 – Moon in Aquarius on Saturday and Sunday. Our Lunar mood influences will range from the business focused Earth sign to the people person Air sign – work hard, be in charge on Friday and attend a community fund raiser, charm volunteers for a neighborhood project for the rest of the weekend? It’s doable!

However, just remember to utilize, wherever possible, the energy of the particular sign the Lunar orb is visiting on a particular day:

Mercury Retrograde 3/12/12 Reminder!

Just another heads up – early today, 3:49am EDT / 12:49am PDT, planet Mercury began its Retrograde motion in Fire sign Aries (it appears to move backward in the sky). Snafus lurk behind transportation, technical, and communication corners. But, the confusion does not have to be inevitable. We can mitigate the potential mess by paying attention to details.

As mentioned in last week’s post, get travel plans and information updated and confirmed, back up files, make sure all those little electronic gadgets are working, etc. and be positive. Rather than think of Mercury Retrograde as a disaster, use the 3 weeks of its backward trek as an opportunity to re evaluate and /or re process. When the planet goes forward again, new plans will have the clarity and energy needed to get off the ground.

The Moon: Full in Virgo, Weekend in Libra & Scorpio – Wow!

Thursday, March 8, 2012 has Virgo Full Moon “handle it” energy. With health minded, practical earthy Virgo, the universe will support you as you complete and finalize whatever vitamin/diet and exercise regimen you may have been thinking about or planning. The influences of this Lunar phase will last for several days even after the Moon sign changes. Get it done.

Late that same evening, there will be a shift to Air sign Libra for Friday and Saturday. This Moon makes us gracious, charming and sociable – but, you don’t have to agree with everything that’s presented to you. Stand your ground if you must.

Finally, the arrival of a Scorpio Moon on Saturday overnight closes out the weekend. This intense, emotional Water sign will demand that you drill down and connect with others on a deep level. Superficial just won’t make it. Be self aware – if your speech or actions turn into drama for drama’s sake – ease up. Hit the melodrama pause button.

Whatever you do, have a terrific, accomplishing  weekend!

Mercury Retrograde March 12 – Pause and Refresh

It’s time for those “re” words again – rethink, rework, revisit, revitalize, reduce (not physically). The 1st Mercury Retrograde for 2012 will be upon us on Monday, March 12 in fiery Aries. Take time to go over details while communications planet Mercury goes backwards in the sky. Project initiation/creation would be best delayed, if possible, until it goes Direct again in Water sign Pisces on 4/4 – if not, be meticulous, be careful, “review”.

Let us prepare early. Get travel plans and information updated and confirmed, back up files, make sure all those little electronic gadgets are working, etc. However, be positive. Rather than think of Mercury Retrograde as a disaster, use the 3 weeks of its backward trek as an opportunity to re evaluate and /or re process. When the planet goes forward again, new plans will have the power and energy needed to get off the ground.

But waiting, thinking things through, dealing with the details, may be easier said than done. Mars ruled Aries is a naturally impatient spark plug urging us to jump off that ledge or send verbal shocks to the universe just because – it’ll be sooooo exciting. This is not such a good time for Aries rashness and risk.  If you must walk on the wild side, look before you leap, take a breath before you speak (It can still be fun).

Life will continue to happen. We will get through it!
