Tasteful, Terrific, Taurus Sun: 4/19/14

astrology_chartwheel 2The Sun moves into stubborn, steady, strong, security focused Taurus on Saturday April 19, 2014. The second sign of the Zodiac has the Bull as its symbol. Perfect! However, since it is ruled by the lovely, romantic planet Venus, earthy Taurus has several other dimensions. It can be practical and dependable, but it’s also, sensual, a lover of beauty, good food and luxury. Loved ones are treated to poetry, music and gourmet restaurants, while getting a lecture on avoiding financial pot holes – nice mix.

Regardless of our actual Sun sign, for the next few weeks we can all tap into those Taurean traits of strength and determination so that we solidify and complete the projects started during the high energy of the Aries Sun. Watch out for a tendency to be overcautious – don’t miss an opportunity out of fear. Security is attractive, especially in this financial climate, but, sometimes we have to take a second look to see the advantage.

The “Bull” is Taurus’ symbol for a reason – stubborn, unwavering in beliefs, will hold on after others have dropped the tug rope, etc. (Just remember to “let go” when obstinacy is no longer useful) However, while standing fast, Taureans are also writing a little poetry for a loved one, enjoying a gourmet meal in a romantic restaurant and checking the addition on the bill.  😛

Orange Full Moon, Total Lunar Eclipse – Libra!

Astro Moon red-moon-eclipseOvernight, April 14/15, 2014, a beautiful copper colored, Full Moon will be viewable in some parts of the world. Since it occurs in Venus ruled, Air sign Libra, we will be inclined toward cooperation with our partners – searching for balance, fairness and calm. All of that, while being super social, beautifying both ourselves and our surroundings at the same time. If it helps us tune out / tone down any negative, angry voices out there (or in our heads), terrific.

As I’ve mentioned in this space before, a ”Full” Moon phase packs power and can give our thoughts clarity. It starts the “waning” or decreasing, of the Lunar orb, a good time to gather results or confront the useless – clean up old projects, get rid of outmoded thought patterns and  attitudes in order to clear the way for the next “New” Moon in 2 weeks.

Weekend Moon – Work, Then Play

Astro New Moon CrescentTake the opportunity on Friday and Saturday to use the Virgo Moon to get all practical, responsible and stuff. As the steady, efficient Mercury ruled 6th sign of the Zodiac, Virgo reminds us of the importance of health, nutrition and service – it will lend itself to a guilt free “what’s next” – the very social Libra.

Very early on Sunday April 13, 2014, the Moon moves into relationship focused Libra and remains there until Monday’ . We can network. We can initiate sparkling conversations. We can schmooze. Ruled by lovely Venus, Libra really appreciates comfort in both surroundings and partnerships. You can fill the balance of the weekend with silk and cashmere quality events if you want – people, pretty things. Sounds good to me.

Home – Weekend Cancer Moon!

It’s very comfortable and happy in this emotional, familycentric sign. It can put us in the perfect mood for creating a safe, relaxed gathering of loved ones but it can also make us over-sensitive and prickly. Downplay any moodiness and let Cancer’s kind, nurturing way of being show up.

Aries New Moon On Sunday!

Sensitive, mystical, Neptune ruled, Water sign Pisces highlights our caring and empathetic side while also awakening any escapist tendencies under the surface. Stay grounded, make note of any dreams that can be used in the creative process and be kind and compassionate. (But remember, if a story, a promise, a gift seems too good to be true – it probably is) Stay real. Next up, energetic Aries!

A New Moon is usually a great time to create and initiate things, but as the Lunar orb jumps into Aries on 3/29/14, results may seem slow in coming.. You’ve got things to do and you want to do them FAST. (Which is the usual Aries speed of choice) However, it will sometimes feel like you’re slogging thru molasses or there is a bottleneck at the starting gate– too many people at the front of the line trying to get their things done just as quickly. Mars, the Aries ruler warrior planet, is in Retrograde. This occurs only every 2 years and it can show up as restraints, blocked flows, etc. Be aware, focus, watch the temper and be nice, even when patience is wearing thin. Projects can be successful even when in “slow” mode.

Weekend: Moon in Fun Sag, Then Ambitious Cap

Astro moon-waning-crescent-lDue to the Moon position in the 9th sign of the Zodiac, Friday and Saturday presents us with cheerful and adventurous possibilities. Jupiter ruled Sagittarius, which is a Fire sign, gives the ok to be upbeat, enthusiastic with expectations of good things.  (The champagne glass is ½ full, not ½ empty sort of attitude.) Take a short trip, spread some cheer, learn something new. Smile.

Early on Sunday morning, March 23, 2014, an atmospheric change comes along as the Moon moves into Earth sign Capricorn. Lasting until Tuesday morning, our thoughts become more deliberate and concerned with ambition, status, financial stability, etc. Be responsible, take charge and accomplish your goals. (But, continue to smile.)

Spring At Last – Sun In Aries!

Regardless of how endless Winter may have seemed for some of us, Spring is here! It arrives, in the Northern Hemisphere, on Thursday March 20, 2014 – finally. The Vernal Equinox coincides with the move of the Sun into active, aggressive, fiery Aries. In the past 12 months, the Sun has transited all 12 Zodiac signs and the cycle starts anew. At 1 degree of Aries, Spring is ready for us to bloom. The warrior Mars influenced, impulsive, physical high energy of the first Astrology sign can be used to springboard those ideas and projects that have been percolating all winter. Lets get a move on.

However, with unpredictable, non conformist Uranus visiting super octane Aries until 2019, recklessness can result, so pay attention to those urges to “act” (act out or act up).  “Action” with purpose and focus, rather than just because we’re bored is a good way to go. Aries is prone to rushing, risk taking and scattered energies. Think a project through and complete it. But, don’t forget to have fun. Spring has sprung and everyone can use a little bit of controlled craziness every once in awhile.

As always, those most affected have the Sun and/or Rising sign in Aries, but the rest of us will still feel the feisty vibes somewhere in our lives depending upon where the Fire sign appears in our chart.

Weekend Highlight – Virgo Full Moon!

The Moon will be in the health and service oriented Earth sign Virgo beginning Friday morning which will be great for getting things done – but wait, there’s more. It’s that time again! On Sunday March 16, 2014, the Moon (Virgo) is opposite and reflecting the Sun (Pisces) = “Full Moon”.
